Hard to consider when this is linked on the same page for $27.38 with similar driver bits, double the drill bits and some sockets: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B001419S9S/

Isn't Bosch Blue supposed to have higher quality?

      • Currently using long ones from AEG. Above average quality.

one made in the UK the other China

Good luck using those in an impact driver on masonry… the Bosch blue multipurpose drill bits can be used on just about anything except hard metals. I would not use the set you have linked to in an impact driver and the bits won't drill into masonry - I have this set as well and it is OK for timber and soft metals but I have broken a few of the smaller drill bits.

These ones are perfectly fine to put in a drill but they aren’t impact rated, meaning they will snap in high torque applications using an impact driver. The ones in the original deal have a skinny shank which makes them suitable for impact driver use.

  • quality?

    • +1 noob here. Also wondering if this drill bits set would be compatible with the same bunnings hammer drill kit…

      • You can use any bits with the drill above as it has a drill chuck. Impact bits are designed for hex shanks which are used by impact drivers. They generally have extra torque in comparison, so they can cause normal bits to snap. I'd say get a dedicated drill set instead as impact bits are generally more expensive

        • sorry to sound dumb….but by dedicated drill set do you mean a set of hammer drill bits?

          • @homersyd: Depends what your drilling. If your drilling concrete or masonary then you will need a hammer drill bit (setting it to hammer drill setting). If your drilling into things like wood you will just need your normal high speed drill bit (setting it to drill setting). You set to which type by turning that red collar with the associated picture

  • are these bits hard to get out of the holder like the other set?

  • Thanks grabbed one

Ex chippie here. These are NOT professional. They are cheap arse crap.

    • Thanks, saved me some dollars. What brand do you recommend?

    • +2

But surely fine for around the house? I don't think a professional would use them but the Amazon reviews are all pretty favourable.

    • Can you recommend trade quality bits for the same price?

      • -5

        Doh ! of course not.
This is cheap crap and you want to know if I can tell you how to get quality bits for the same price.
        Stupid question

  • Dumb question - do these work in a standard drill chuck?

    • +1

Not really, its a hex bit - should still work if you fit it correctly, but might wobble around or get loose if you pushed too hard. Hex bit is primarily designed for impact driver

      • Thanks for the heads up.

Just noticed Bosch Week 2021 was after another 27 mini ratchet bit set but they only went down to $22.

If they go down to sub $15 again as they're fantastic little sets especially if you have kids and have IKEA furniture.

Waiting for Todd from Project Farm to say: We are going to test this!

if you're just doing odd jobs around the house, either will be fine
