  They're sized differently for lower average weights. Some manufacturers also claim special differences for the height difference.

      The boards targetted for women are generally smaller (width and length) and more flexible that the mens equivalent.
      Why? Basic genetic make up…
      Women generally have smaller feet, so don't need as wide a board.
      Women are also generally lighter than men so don't need a board to be as stiff.
      
      Not everything needs to be viewed as dripping in sexism…
