I have used this app twice to order concrete and found them very good and around 20% cheaper than my concreter was able to get. Both times they sent a Boral truck.

  • Approx how much have you paid for load of concrete from this service? Also is there a minimum amount they will send in a truck?

    • No min but upto $95 fee if not 3 cubes. Fee reduces between 2-3 cubs.

Depends on the concrete type, location etc but around $230 per cube/ $280 for colour. Can be better big difference between states as well i noticed QLD was way cheaper than NSW

Being a diy kinda person I used "concrete taxi" to do a 1 cubic metre delivery. Well worth it. The driver even gave me tips on what I was doing and showed me how to use the screed properly, didn't charge any extra (YouTube wasn't enough hah). But might be a good alternative to this service if you're only doing a small order. I had a much larger slab built and hired someone. They got a cement trunk in to deliver - the truck driver was rude and bit of an douche. But tradie had to deal with it. Put me off ordering concrete from a supplier for a small diy job like I was doing.

Just curious, can the public use this service or is it reserved for tradies with accounts.

And what is this service, are you guys effectively a broker for concrete. So if I ordered 6m³ 25 MPa would you allocate that order to whoever you want, take a bit of a cut and and pass on some savings to me, due to the agreement you have with the supplier?

But how does it work in case you don't use the full load, or go beyond the unloading limit. Does it just fall back to the standard rate schedule?

I've found the price to be pretty standard in my area for my two local sites, I have Boral and Hanson, but I pretty much exclusively use Hanson as they have never charged me for going way over the unloading limit ( it was unloaded via barrow due to narrow access) or when I've returned 0.5 m³. I guess I was lucky and had company drivers.

    • I am not associated but i believe if you register as a business (no details needed other than name) you get better rates. In the app there is a list of suppliers. There are fees that can be past on and theres a list on the site.

Im sorta surprised there is such a fancy app for ordering concrete

  • how long does the $250 last before expiring? Concrete Cash must be used within six months from the date it is issued, after which it will expiry, i ll need some to do a driveway in a couple of months but not confident in doing it my self because of strict council rules.

    • You can get a concreter/concrete pump as needed and order the concrete yourself still. Thats what i did.

      • thanks Yabadabadoo for the advice, not sure how to go about it nor how concreter/concrete pump fully works or would be beneficial for a 8 metre driveway? aren't concrete pumps for large works sites useful to reach multilevel building's and require a big truck which would be costly?

        • Pump is around $600. Its just the way of getting the concrete to the location. Not sure if the chute would be long enough and of not you will need a bunch of people with weel barrows to get it from the truck to the driveway. A concreter will know the best option. I think you will need around 4 cubes based on 8x3.5x.15m.best to get a little more if you have a place to dispose of any excess (e.g. Under the house or other optional things like a letterbox pad or a path etc)
