@lostinsydney: Out of 4 accounts, 2x Explorer, Plat Edge, Essential
            - All main cards got it
            - 4/8 Explorer supps got it
            - 1/4 Plat Edge supps got it
            - 1/1 Essential supp got it

            Can't figure out the pattern…

            • +1

@lilkid28: Amex has infiltrated ozbargain and they know our tactics 😂

  • Been checking each day and this morning it is available Plat Reserve and Supp

  • I bought a $100 DJ gift card on the 14th but didnt get the $20 back

    • +1

Unless your offer started on the 14th and explicitly said so in your saved offers, it starts today.

    • Yeah, I spent $120 at New Balance last night, but I didn’t get an email. My offer definitely says it starts on 14 October, and I have emails to prove it too.

      • Maybe no one's getting e-mails this time round. Wouldn't be the first time.

        • True, I’m not too concerned at this stage.

          • @WookieMonster: I did too trying to double up on the other NB amex offer yesterday.

Got an email for the NB $20 back but not Vogue and others are reporting receiving emails today for that one. Reckon Amex will honour both seeing as the deal is listed as starting the 14th but not confirming the $20 back yet?

Shopback have a 20% uncapped cashback for today along with a verified 15% new customer so thinking about reordering with that and returning/keeping whichever one works out cheaper.

            • @Djoker: I also got the NB $20 cashback email, but not the Vogue $20 cashback email.

I’ll give it about a week, as cashback usually takes a few business days, but my guess is Amex will eventually honour both.

Shopback have a 20% uncapped cashback for today along with a verified 15% new customer

I don’t think you can stack both cashback and the new customer discount, unless Shopback specifically allows it. I would be surprised if you could receive both.

You could use NBBUPA20, which will give you a 20% discount on full-priced items.

              • +1

@WookieMonster: The new customer code is listed on shopback so they should allow it but I'm thinking the effort of reordering is not worth it due to shopback not always honouring, I'll just wait and see with Amex

                • +3

@Djoker: I just checked my Amex account on the website, and I can see that the NB and Vogue offers stacked, so I’m going to be credited with $40 cashback! (And that means you should be too.)

        • I received an email for Ultimate Primary, but have now received the offer on Discovery cards without email.

      • I got email confirmation on my essential card but not on my gold amex card. I wouldn't worry about it as email don't always come through and besides Amex is generally good to give you the cashback if you done nothing wrong when you call them.

What's annoying at the moment is that I can't reset password for a supp card as their system is down so I can't check whether that Supp got the offer.

    • I got an email for one card and no emails for the other

  • +1

Ooh I'm sure this stacks with my David Jones spend $100 get $10 offer. Time to stack!!

  • Does DJ have itunes giftcards in store?

    • +1

No, from memory, the only gift cards they sell is David Jones gift cards.

(Also, this offer is online only.)

      • Surely they have other giftcards in store.

        • +3

I had a look around in-store in July, and the only gift cards they had were David Jones gift cards.

@kerfuffle (ex-David Jones staff member) can back me up.

  • So, can we buy $100 gift cards from all those listed business which offer gift cards online such as kathmandu, rebel sports etc and get $20 off, up to 2x?

    • +2

You can David Jones. With the others, you would need to ascertain that they are sold by them and not 3rd party as happens with Myer GC's. The name on the statement has to be the listed company on offer.

      • I wanted to get some rebel and Kathmandu gift cards for my son's 21st but until I purchase them, I would not know if it is sold by them or third party.

        • +1

did you end up buying any gift cards with rebel/kath? i'm interested too

  • I have received the offer on Discovery Primary and 4 sups and Ultimate Primary but no sups. Maybe it is still coming.

  • +2

Got thank you e-mails from Amex for buying perfume from Mecca and makeup from DJs (on two different Amexes)

  • Anyone tried buying $100 DJ gift card online and getting the Amex email confirming $20 back? Thanks

    • +3

Yeah I bought $100 DJ gift card online, and I got the amex email confirming I used the offer. Now, whether or not, if I spend another $100 at DJ's, I'll get another $20 back, I'm not sure.

      • Have you tried this yet?

        • +1

yup, got another $20 back on multiple cards I had the offer saved on. So, spend $100 at DJs for gift card, get $20 back. Spend another $100 at DJs for another gift card, get another $20 back.

  • Can anyone confirm whether you can buy from same Merchant twice for $100 and over and get $20 cashback twice.

    • +6

Try it out and let us know.

      • I want to know too. Wanted to buy 2x giftcards at DJ on one card.

        • +2

Try it out and let us know.

          • +2

@kerfuffle: Just tried it. Both gifts cards came thru, but only one Amex email… :(

            • +1

@kyle: Ok this is interesting. Bought a 3rd gift card, this time with a non-DJ Amex. No Amex email.

              • +2

@kyle: I don’t think the confirmation email is strictly necessary to receive the cashback credit.

I remember receiving a Caltex/Ampol offer in November 2020, but when I spent the minimum amount, I never received a confirmation email. I still got the cashback credit.

            • +1

@kyle: Just check next week Tuesday/Wednesday if you received 2x credit back from the same Amex card

              • +10

@lilkid28: Credits came through already. 2x at DJ on same card.

      • +7

Amex confirmed with me on live chat that you can use both times with the same merchant to get the credits twice.

        • -2

So you could spend $200 in one transaction and get $40 back?

          • +3

            @bluedufflecoat: Not quite.

You can spend $100 or more with DJ (for example) in one transaction and get $20 back.

You can then spend $100 or more with DJ in a second transaction and get another $20 back.

          • @bluedufflecoat: That's not how it's worded but who knows what the Amex system will do.

They had a hotel offer a while back and had I think $80 back three times. I along with others got $240 in one hit.

        • Did you received 2*$20 successfully when you buy from same merchant?

        • Have you received the credits twice? I want to know!

  • +1

It wasn’t listed in my deals when this was first posted but now it’s there on both my main and supp cards.

  • +3

Perhaps second purchases don't get e-mails. I bought a gift card from Mecca with the same card that I used at DJs and didn't get an e-mail

    • +2

Following up on this comment: I looked at my Amex Offers and it says I've used it at both Mecca and DJs, despite not getting the second e-mail for Mecca.

  • first purchase - DJ gc, no email to confirm :(

  • I swear I saw Adore beauty on it before

    Anyone else?

    • +1

I manually copied and pasted the names of the stores from the Amex website late on Wednesday night and pasted it into the table you see in the description.

I don’t specifically recall seeing Adore Beauty on the Amex website (at least not on Wednesday night).

      • +2

all good thanks for letting me know @wookiemonster

ill just buy 2x DJ GCs on the same card and buy it from there :)

        • +1

Adore Beauty is a separate Amex offer $20 off $100 not linked to this one.

  • +1

Ordered 1 x David Jones gift card. Email from AMEX received straight away. No gift card from David Jones yet.

    • Normally takes 5-10 minutes

      • No card after 50 mins. May be slower on the weekend?

        • +2

You ordered outside of working hours. Expect it tomorrow after your order gets checked

        • +1

Received just over 2 hours after purchase.

  • Does Myer gift card works in-store?

    • +2

      Pays to read the OP.

    • -1

If you are buying Myer gift card works in-store, they should work as as Amex wouldn't know if you bought a GC. I will test this later in the week.

      • +2

You also need to read the OP.

        • +4

Please note that any in-store purchases are excluded from this offer.
          facepalm

          Thanks!!!

  • +1

Only on primary Amex card, nada for supp card here.

  • +1

Anyone successfully get 2*$20 credit buy from same merchant?

    • +4

      Yes.

  • +2

Got my $20 credits for my Friday purchases despite not getting e-mails for all purchases!

  • I suppose you can't use the DJ gift cards (after you buy them online) to buy some other type of gift card instore?

    • +3
    • +6

According to clause 4.12 in their gift card terms and conditions, you can actually use DJ gift cards to buy other DJ gift cards at a DJ store. This is handy if you have a pile of smaller denominations gift cards and you want to consolidate them into one or a couple of gift cards to get around the 5 gift card limit on the DJ website.

I actually did this twice at the Customer Services Centre at two different stores late last year:

      • At the first store, the staff member consolidated the gift cards, no questions asked.

      • However, at the second store, the staff members became very grouchy and said “no, you cannot buy a gift card with four gift cards”, even though it is in the terms and conditions.

However, DJ only sells DJ gift cards in their stores (as @kerfuffle has already kindly pointed out).

      • Hi just wondering did you do this with physical or egift cards?

        • +1

At the first store, I consolidated a $100 eGift Card and a $50 physical gift card.

At the second store, I consolidated 2x $100 physical gift cards and 2x $50 physical gift cards.

Before you ask, you cannot consolidate the $10 or $20 promotional vouchers you occasionally get via emails with a physical gift card or eGift card. I tried that at the first store, but the lady said that was against the rules, even though the $10 or $20 vouchers are actually gift cards.

          • +3

@WookieMonster: Those promo vouchers have very short expiry dates, not the 3 years of the regular GCs.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: You can consolidate the $10 or $20 promotional vouchers but it does require a bit more work and hassle. Buy something with that promotional voucher, then just return it, it'll get returned in the form of a normal voucher and you can then just consolidate/use it as you wish. I end up doing that with my promo $ vouchers because the timing of the expiry of those vouchers never coincide with when I actually want to spend those vouchers. So instead of the normal 30 day expiry of the promo vouchers, I get it extended to 3 years and can consolidate with my stash of gift cards.

            • +2

@Kenb0: Considering I have only spent $14.99 at David Jones this year (and that was only because I got a $10 voucher), I doubt I would go those sort of lengths! It’s good to know that they credit the voucher value back to you though, because a lot of other businesses would force you to forfeit the promotional voucher.

  • +2

Loccitane is in the list, went to check with amex live chat, they says its not recorded as valid, some issue with their systems, so I will have to go back to them after 5 days if credit not posted. Take note if anyone buying from loccitane.

    • Did you end up getting the credit? or going to have to contact them early next week? we got something from loccitane as well, but no email, and no credit so far - thought it has only been 4 business days.

  • Sorry if this is a silly question, when you say purchasing DJ gift card online it includes DJ e-gift card?

    • +1

Yes. The only gift card sold on the DJ website is the DJ eGift Card.

  • +1

    thanks!

  • I'm getting 'Your purchase has FAILED' when I try and buy a $100 gift card using my AMEX at Peter Alexander. Worked earlier this week. May have been disabled?

    • Did you get this working?

  • +2

Interesting data point I have for everyone.

Prior to the Vogue offer, I had a spend 200 and get 200 back at DJ.

Bought a 200 gc. My card was credited with 200 PLUS 20 from Vogue.

Paid -20 for a 200 gc or in other words got paid 20 to buy a 200 gc

    • +2

Yes, you will get both credits if you have two offers saved at the same time - and it's been always like that way.
I guess the offer you got (spend $200 and get $200) is an welcome offer from Amex? When I signed up for Amex years ago, I got spend $30 at WW and get $20 back as a welcome offer so you got pretty lucky!

      • Both of you were luckier than me! To be fair, I only have a lowly Qantas Discovery…

        • Spend $40, get $15 back at David Jones (which I didn't take advantage of by buying a DJ gift card in-store, but I regret that now!)
        • Spend $10, get $5 back at Woolworths
        • Spend $20, get $5 back with PayPal
        • +1

Yes, I was happy to get the $20 off $100 spend x 2 offer for my Discovery Primary and 4 supps and on primary Ultimate. So $1400 worth. Was tossing up about it but do not want to regret not getting it later. Really sorry that cannot go to Myer and get the Coles Myer Group GC's, that would have been a no brainer. The Spend $40, get $15 back at David Jones offer would have been 37.5% off. Wow.

  • Last few hours to purchase gift cards. Unlike last year, they didn't open up the offer to the remaining cards which didn't receive the offer otherwise when the offer started.

  • Just checked again, nada for supp cards. What a shame.

  • +6

Spent over $200 in one transaction at Adidas and got $40 back (as opposed to just one lot of $20).

    • ahh! does that mean I could have been buying $200 x 1 gift card instead of $100 x 2? :(
