FYI - Must keep policy until at least 12 January 2022

    • So could you sign up for 2 months at the lowest cover and still be ahead?

      • Actually if you join on n 31 October 2021 (Last day of promotion) and keep it till 12 Jan 2022 that's pretty much 2 months worth of premiums.
Based on my quote on the cheapest policy I'd still be $56 in profit if I was to cancel then.

      Give them a call..

  • 6 weeks free promos are more valuable for me. I am on to my third this year!

  • This works well for me. This year I have used $180 of massage, some general dental and all my optical.

I have very good cover now, but suspended second time for pandemic, it starts in a few days, so my choice was either to cancel completely or switch provider.

If I pay for 2.5 months until 12/1/22, Basic Essential Hospital Plus and Core and Wellbeing Extras $130.89* Monthly, that is about $325 out of pocket but $200 back, so $125 out of pocket.

For that, I get 60% back on osteo and myo (gotta use it now from sitting through lockdown!) so about $450 back maybe $600 if I go to physio as well, then can use up $300 on optical early january, plus another general dental scaling in november and next year (need scaling frequently). So all up I get at least $500 or maybe $800-$1000 value for $125. That's my specific situation but it is decent.

I wouldn't stay to NIB long term from the reviews about their hospital cover and previous threads and comments on here.

I'm gonna cancel my cover completely from Jan until July, when I will be earning over 90k for FY22-23 so makes sense to get it back.

Probably try AIA with Vitality next, depends what deals are on in July. Six months membership if you are on Silver Vitality level, free excess on hospital visit, and I need a gastroscopy/colonoscopy.
