    2 years ago WTF??????
    2 Months ago? bad deal.
    Today? Great deal

    • +1

For reference, what would these be worth 2 years ago?

      • +3

Considering this is about on par with a 5700XT and that was available for around $600~ in 2019 this comment makes perfect sense.

    Good deal in current climate

    I'm just happy that I've sold my RX 580 8GB for $531.

    • +7

2 years ago i bought an rx580 for $130, times truly are strange

      • +1

Posted at the same time almost the same experience but apparently you got a better deal. :)

    • +1

I bought an RX480 8gb a couple of years ago for $150 2nd hand. They sell for almost $500 now. Crazy.

2 years ago eth was less than $100, now is $4500

GPU prices have nothing to do with crypto, it's from scalpers and COVID shortages! /s

          • +2

@iseeyou1312: I think it is all of the above, miners want to get all the mh/s they can during this bull run, scalpers are out there to try and flip and make a quick buck and on top of all of that we have COVID chip shortages. It's the perfect storm.

          • +2

@iseeyou1312: ‘Nothing to do with Crypto’. Considering Nvidia went to the lengths of creating LHR, I would say your statement is a tad incorrect.

          • +2

@iseeyou1312: Chipset supply shortage is happening all the time since Covid, but gpu prices went down a bit in July and August, the reason was crypto price went down nearly half in June.
Gpu prices have everything to do with crypto price. Scalpers and Covid just make it worse.

bought one 2day…an MSI for $425…in great nick…benching even now…

    • +1

Where did you sell your card? I have a rx 580 myself that's not being used.

  • +5

This has been available for some time - its not actually in stock. It's in stock at supplier so not really guaranteed when it will come

  • +1

AMD are releasing the RX6600 8Gb non XT card any day now.. will be at $300US ish RRP or close to it for the first few days.

    • +2

"VideoCardz managed to grab screenshots showing the Sapphire RX 6600 in question being priced at €590 (about $690, £430, AU$950)."

Getting any cards even half-close to RRP will be impossible.

I do realise techradar isn't exactly a super reputable source lol, and at $950aud is likely an XT price posted in error…i hope!

      https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/amd-rx-6600-gpu-leak-comes…

      • +1

The leaked price from Moore's law is dead is $329 USD - so around $512 AUD based on what the 6600 XT sold for at release. Whether or not they'll be available at that price on release before miners buy out all the stock remains to be seen, but supply is rumoured to be robust.

        • +2

One can hope! Trying, and likely failing, to buy a 1080p card for $520 in 2021. The world really is messed up haha.

          • @incipient: Those cards are being poorly reviewed too. Mostly for the obvious price reason but they're a pretty ordinary card for most people.

  • +5

These are actually a solid card, 1080ti performance and does surprisingly well at 1440p, pretty impressive actually coming from a 1070.

If you can sell an older generation card and get one of these for minimal outlay it may be a good buy until the high-end cards come down in price.

Agreed, got sick of waiting for my 3060ti order from Jan and just pulled the trigger on a 6600xt at launch for $589 before the price hike.

Getting buttery smooth fps in New World on 1080p high. I hear the memory bandwidth is a bit low for 1440p on some titles but I wouldn't know as my monitor is 1080p. AOC 24g2u - another classic Ozb monitor. :)

Probably the best price to performance available on the market at the minute.

My 3060ti only arrived last week but was happy with the 6600xt and went straight on FB marketplace.

      • +2

Picked up a Sapphire RX 6600XT Nitro+ for $840 the other week. So price on this is sorta alright for the current market.

Noted* there was a few 6700XT at a better valve price but all 3 fans which wouldn't have fitted in my mini itx case.

As you said the 6600 XT is great. Running on 1080p 165hz refresh and ultra settings with the amd performance set for overclocked.

Happy has coming from a 1050ti.

  • +1

How does this compare to the 3060?

    • +4

equal if not better overal gaming performance (various from game to game) but ray tracing (RT) performance is worst. However I reckon RT at 3060 even 3060 Ti is not worth the fps drops

  • +2

Booked last night and then they cancelled my order this morning.

  • +1

I bought it this morning and they just canned it a few minutes ago… Maybe they ran out ages ago?

    • +1

      Same here. oh well.

      • +2

Yeah truly a shame. I was going to buy one of these then sell my GF's RX580 since she is currently running into fps problems in Icarus.

I guess I'll just wait until another deal pops up and try again

my Order got cancelled : …..(
