Seems like a great deal on TCL C825 - arguably the best non-OLED TV and certainly hard to beat at this price point.

    Got excited for a second

  • How does this compare to the Sony X9500?

  • Where's 85inch, I have been waiting…

  • Bummer, Suncorp offers 4% discount on the Good Guys egift card (and you can nominate the exact amount), but will only be emailed out after funds are cleared. This deal finishes on the 17th so not enough time.

Any suggestions guys on where to buy gift cards on short notice? (a dollar saved is a dollar earned) Thanks in advance!

      Shopback has 3%

      Usually takes 24hours first time
      Clears quicker next transaction

    • Use credit card?
I have been buying the egiftcard via Suncorp using citibank cc.

      • It seems purchase via credit card is no longer an option at Redeemyourgiftcard.com.au (however I will ask them about using a Debit card):

"Gift Cards purchases are by direct debit and therefore incur NO credit card transaction fees.

Our aim is to provide our customers with the best discounts possible by passing on the maximum discount. Introducing a credit card facility to purchase your e-Gift card would incur a credit card transaction fee. Credit card transaction fees can sometimes incur high costs, which would detract from the savings we offer.

The only fee we charge is a $1 per card. This fee is generated by the card providors not Redeemyourgiftcard.com.au"

    • Mate, just average that lost $80 saving over the say 6 yrs you'll own it's about $1 a month

  • I had a look at this TV along with the Samsung Q70 today, I must say I thought this TV was more dull and the viewing angles not as good as the Samsung. Could just be setting related but you'd think they'd set each one up to its best potential.

The built in soundbar might make up for things though, obviously no sound playing on the demo units.

Haha, they setup the TV with the best kickbacks. Always take your own test picture/ video and change the settings when looking for a TV.

I noticed JBs were running a 576 video feed into some TCL TVs last week. Made those look very ordinary.

      • +2

Yeah I usually ask to play with the remote and will bring some video along with me if I was 100% serious .. I was only "browsing" at this stage. The viewing of the TCL panels off angle though did put me off though .. day and night difference between the Samsung in that regard I found.

  • Trying to find review online, is this the US equivalent Q825?

    Chinese junk

    • +5

Flagship model from 2nd largest manufacturer in the world. Best sound of any TV on the market.

Enlighten us please with a better choice anywhere close to this price point?

      • -3

Quantity doesn't mean quality and when did China ever master making a great tv or any tech for that matter 🤔 😀

        • +1

Mate, if you only buy non-chinese made products you're on the wrong site. This isn't OzPremium.

        • +1

What a racist and ignorant comment. The only reason they’ve grown to that size is because they make the best quality products at those given price points, most people tend to make rational decisions based on product quality. There are also heaps of chinese industry leaders in the display industry let alone the broader consumer electronics industry, BOEs about to supply millions of oled panels to apple each year, stealing contracts from lg. Dji pretty much has a monopoly in the consumer drones market. Huawei has by far the largest market share of advanced telecom equipments in the world. Thats just a few off the top of my head. Now why dont you try naming one major australian company thats in consumer tech, since when are we in a position to mock china regarding tech. Nationalism truly is one hell of a drug lmao.

@cajk0712: They are 100% right. Their motto is to mass produce first and worry about quality later. That "worry" about quality is send you another one if the first one is bad. Rinse repeat.

  • Why buy from tgg when JBHIFI offered same price with additional JBHIFI gift card?

    • Well for starters JB are late to the party on this one but fair enough, they have now matched GG price. But Good Guys is $100 cash back from TCL whereas JB only offer gift card. Personally I'd take cash over a gift card but if JB have local stock that might swing things in their favour.

      • You get gift card from JBHIFI + cashback from TCL of purchase from JBHIFI.

        • If that's true then great, but no mention of it on JB hifi website and JB also not listed as participating retailer on TCL website
