Has the Microsoft Store ever done a sale on the Elite controller?

So I've been eyeing the Elite Series 2 for awhile now, but at $249 that's quite a chunk to spend to get one. I know it can occasionally be found cheaper elsewhere, but if I buy direct from MS I have enough Rewards points for two $25 gift cards, and with the LatitudePay HN offer on for the next couple of days, I can get an extra $50 off by buying gift cards through there, which would bring the price down quite a bit more than the cheapest deals I've seen browsing OzBargain. But what I'm wondering, does Microsoft ever have sales on this kind of stuff? I'm guessing not since it's a premium, niche product, but thought I'd see if they ever have in the past.

The only one listed on OzBargain was via their eBay store, 20% off Microsoft eBay code. No deals from their website.

    • Yeah, I've seen that. I wouldn't be able to use my Xbox gift cards or Microsoft Rewards points though.

  • Btw, if you use bing you can earn points for discounts in the MS/xbox store. I claimed $50 worth for the 20 year anniversary controller and used 10% off gift cards. Have to be careful as the giftcard balance expires after a bit of time.

It does take time to accumulate though.

    • Yeah, I already do that. Currently have enough points for $50, so with the $50 off I got by buying the gift cards through Harvey Norman with Latitude Pay, it brings the controller down to $149. Seems pretty good given the positive reviews the Elite has always gotten.

      • QC is not great. I've got issues of missed button presses particular the A button.

Have you used purkle before? basically surveys for money that can be used for GCs. Formerly ninerewards.

I bought the elite 2 and initially didn't think much of it. My fingers were programmed not to use the paddles as my brain just defaulted to pressing the original buttons.

Had to slowly re-train my fingers for its use and now it's all second nature and definitely faster for a few games.

Even if I didn't use the paddles, the adjusting of the thumbstuck input curves makes some games definitely more enjoyable and easier. Eg. Scope aiming for FPS and smoother turns turns driving.

If you can get for $149, then thats a steal. I'd been looking for a while and never saw prices come down from MS store. I just used discounted gift cards
