Mine is spend $250 get $40 back.

  • Is this valid for the qantas rewards store?

    • "on flights within or departing Australia online only"

      • +1

They cannot see what has been purchased, only the vendor. Therefore purchasing gift vouchers via qantas.com has historically worked.

        • Anyone keen to test this out again? been a year since the last attempt.

Also what is the expiry on QANTAS gift vouchers? (Apologies for my laziness)

          • @n0mad: I will wager it still works but I don't have the deal.

            Apologies for my laziness

            Yeah just google it :)

They can and you can download recent transaction details from online portal. For Qantas purchase, it shows flight route and who’s name on the ticket. It won’t show on your monthly statement though.

Yet no one knows they will verify it or not. Maybe it’s just spend at Qantas AU site is fine.

          • @9hcpz: I have never seen that but it may be the case. Regardless, it hasn't ever stopped gift voucher purchases working in the past.

Incorrect, many people know. People have been doing it for plenty of years.

@littlesoldier: The real MVP. Thanks @littlesoldier — do keep us informed!

            • +2

@tommypickles: FYI I took the risk, App says it's been redeemed but still waiting for the cash back

            • +3

@tommypickles: Hey all, I can confirm that I have receive the $70 credit
after spending $350 on Qantas voucher

Only if the rewards store appears as the same vendor as purchasing through qantas.com, which is probably unlikely I'm guessing.

      QANTAS AIRWAYS LTD (ECOM) MASCOT

      • Oops, that's how it appears to ANZ. For Amex:-

        QANTAS AIR AUSTRALIA AUSTRALIA

  • I got this even with the Discovery Card

  • I got this on both my main and my supp.

  • $250 - $40 on 5 cards

  • Curious to see whether an upcoming charge from Qantas loyalty (hotel) will trigger this

  • I suppose we can get qantas gift cards. How many gift cards can be used to book a flight?

    • You can always just book a random flight then cancel for credit

  • Damn. Just paid last week

  • Are we thinking that this will stack with the $450 Travel Credit on Qantas Ultimate Amex?

    • -1

Don't think so since you can only use the $450 through amex travel portal directly.

      • +1

No, since all of the covid delays, they gave us a statement credit for use at various Qantas sites. Last year my brother had a similar thing with two offers and both triggered when he purchased a voucher.

        • Yep so if the 2 offers are saved and you spend on Qantas flights which one will be activated first? Any idea how that will work?

          • +1

@epmonp6: They both trigger on the same transaction most of the time.

            • @Pcoder: Its the same offer that they had last year. I've still got $600 in travel credit from that

            • @Pcoder: I had a David Jones offer and a Vogue Fashion Night offer (which covers DJs too), but got an automated trigger email for only one of them. I hope they haven't changed the rules on double triggering.

              • +2

@clx: I have found some of the notifications don't always come now. I've brought my voucher though, so should know in a couple of days if everything is ok, but the transaction came under "Qantas Airways", so i'd be very surprised if there were any issues.

              • @clx: A follow up, I haven't got credited yet, but in my offers both of the Qantas offer have been tagged as recently redeemed.

        • I have this offer on my main Qantas Ultimate too, and yet to use my $450 travel credit expiring in Jan'22. Just to clarify, I can stack this offer booking a flight on AMEX travel portal, and if need to cancel, will get credit in full instead of just the paid portion only?

          • @Craze: I dont think you can, as you can only use the $450 travel credit on Amex Travel, where this Qantas offer needs to be redeemed on Qantas site.

  • Didn't get this offer and have an explorer card

  • Finally something nice on offer lol my targeted offers haven't been great over the last few months - David Jones card

  • +1

what can I buy except airplane ticket?

  • Can't save offer!

  • Is this a one time activation? Like, if you spend $350 twice you get $70 back from each transaction?

    • +1

Is this a one time activation?

Yes, and you will only receive one $70 credit under this offer.

if you spend $350 twice you get $70 back from each transaction?

No. The full terms and conditions of this offer states:

      • Offer is limited to one credit per Card to which the offer is saved and only spend on this Card counts towards the Offer.

The reason the offer states “spend $350 or more, in one or more transactions” is that you do not need to hit the $350 spend requirement in one transaction to get the $70 credit.

      Example 1

If I spend $249 during the offer period on one flight, and then in a separate transaction spend $320 during the offer period on another flight, I would be credited a total of $70.

      Example 2

If I spend $460 during the offer period on one flight, I would be credited a total of $70.

      Example 3

If I spend $460 during the offer period on one flight, and then in a separate transaction spend $370 during the offer period on another flight, I would be credited a total of $70.

  • Mine is 350 / 70

  • Have a pending charge from yesterday.. activated it just now, won't work will it?

  • Just curious, I do have heaps of Qantas reward points. If I buy $250 worth of Qantas gift cards for $210, can I use it to pay for taxes and charges when booking a rewards flights?

    • No you cannot.

      • cheers. that kinda sucks

        • If you have multiple flight bookings it might work out as you can do this in multiple transactions to get to the $250, even you could buy a gift card to push you over too.

  • +4
  • Does anyone know if this works with reward flights? Or does it need to be a normal fare?

  • -1

I have flown a lot, and Qantas is the most overrated Airline ever.

  • where to buy the gift voucher? Does it work if I buy something from Qantas store?

  • Can you redeem Qantas vouchers on the rewards store?

  • can this be used for jetstar if booked via qantas site?

  • Anyone tried with Qantas wine purchases?

    • I did today. No email.

  • +1

Qantas wine is a different biller.
