Donner Music - Welcome or Not on OzB?

Recently had posted under deals and received a number of negs with citation this - courtesy mskeggs & kd4314 while citing the 3 previous deals that were welcomed/accepted on positive vibe.

Decided to expire in the spirit of OzB before code expiry and made efforts to elevate this feedback to the post however this time the associate posted debuted this and was welcomed/successful.

Ever since the posted by the origim - there are still active posts that didn't cite/give feedback of a non-welcome vibe:

It's more a case of cost… for low cost, people won't care about customer service re: returns (like a <$50 violin). For a $500 piano, they'll care about warranty returns

Plus some posts fly under the radar. Those who negged your post (and other posts), may not have seen every deal post for the store

    • Would you or other subsequent fellow commentators change their response upon looking the ozb user's feedback/comment? Let's quote a few comments and see if its about cost assessment:

      "Thanks for letting us know…

      Dodgy companies deserve a neg…"

"Yeah nah, based off previous comments i think this deserves a neg as warning for others.
You're screwed if you incur some sort of problem with this mob.

Perhaps ozb can consider banning this business."

Made in china is fine, the main problem is that while this may be shipped from a local warehouse … if you have issues previous buyers have indicated that for returns/warranty need to send things back to china.

"Just adding to the warning for other potential customers. Maybe suggest removing this post even."

"This seller has a poor reputation, and is in trouble with ASIC.
For this money I would buy a known brand next time they are on sale."

"Their domain name is registered to an ABN for Donnar Pty Ltd which is deregistered"

      • Sometimes you’ll need to take comments with a grain of salt…

  • At the end of the day if you can provide a product at or lower than normal Ozber's will jump on it if they are into that product. I think what your selling here is a bit niche which then means it needs to be really competitive in price. Finding alternative pricing is very easy, so maybe check competition first and previous Lister's on this site as well. Good luck.

  • I'll let you know when my first ever guitar arrives.

I have bought some guitar pedals from them on two occasions, and they were delivered swiftly for a good price.
I wouldn't buy a large or costly item due to the service issues.

I think the problem is if there is a deal posted for a $20 guitar pedal, and somebody follows the link and sees a $500 drum kit. It's a good idea to maybe link to some previous deals highlighting the possible issues rather than an outright ban.

  • Pretty much all feedback is aligned to cost base risk decision making. Thank you all.
