    @ Donner Music

While you're there, try their kebabs…

    Never heard the brand tbh

  • +1

How's this compared to entry level Kawais and Yamahas?

    • I’m also curious too as unfamiliar with the brand and their quality/reputation.

    • Semi Weighed keys are crap compared to the fully weighted stuff from other brands.

  • Great value. Made in China, but so are iPhones.

      but so are iPhones

      Shhh…NEVER talk about that

    • +2

Made in china is fine, the main problem is that while this may be shipped from a local warehouse … if you have issues previous buyers have indicated that for returns/warranty need to send things back to china.

      • If only things gets delivered. 15days waiting for patch cables, I guess my experience tells a story itself

  • Any cheap item I could add so you can get the $80 off?

This seller has a poor reputation, and is in trouble with ASIC.
For this money I would buy a known brand next time they are on sale.

Can you verify this or are you just speculating?

Their domain name is registered to an ABN for Donnar Pty Ltd which is deregistered.

Thanks for sharing. Definitely concerning and enough to steer me away from this.

I guess for something expensive, better to pay a bit more or wait for special in stores like jb, harvey etc.

        • I hope the guy got his money back.
          Thanks for sharing Mkseggs

        • "We do not have an agent in Australia. We sincerely have no way to reach them. We hope that you you can do a cooperation. Your understanding is appreciated!"
Above is the reply I received in my messenger when inquired about a product bought 2 weeks ago

        • tks mate, products from china is fine but in case the warranty needs to send back china is dumb.
no physical address is the fake online seller.

Thank you for sharing. Happy to elevate this in the post body.

A music instructor had recommend Donner Music.

Personally didn't get the impression of poor product or customer experience from the previous recent posts of Donner Music:

      • "Personally didn't get the impression of poor product or customer experience from the previous recent posts of Donner Music"

Perhaps, but here's me wondering if you'll still think that way when there's some sort of problem with your purchase and you are stuck having to return ship it back overseas. Not too mention the hassles of waiting for them to answer you.

Not worth it if you ask me, especially when the item's $500 & bulky.

I got confused, I thought you were associated. Well done for putting the link to mskeggs story.

      Thanks for letting us know…

      Dodgy companies deserve a neg…

Please don't buy any "Digital Piano" that is not fully weighted keys. It's not a "Piano" but a synth keyboard then. Includes "Semi weighted" technologies like this that's not great.

If you are going to go with the option of the weighted in the OP's post, then you might as well buy a more reputable brand for around the $6xx mark.

As someone who recently went through and researched to buy a digital piano, def recommend buying a second hand Casio, Yamaha or Roland from marketplace.

    I picked up a Casio AP-260 (270 current model) for $400 and it’s beautiful.

Most good digital pianos age well so good to buy second hand.

    • And I bet in a lot of cases they're barely used. I say this as my sister and I grew up playing piano, it took forever to get rid of our old piano when my parents downsized (we gave it away and even then it took a while for someone to be willing to take it since it took a lot of logistics to get out of the house), and then now when we feel nostalgic, we want to buy a new smaller digital piano which feels almost as good as the real thing but can be used with headphones.

… and lo and behold, they sit there looking pretty except once or twice a year!

  • Yeah nah, based off previous comments i think this deserves a neg as warning for others.
You're screwed if you incur some sort of problem with this mob.

Perhaps ozb can consider banning this business.

  • Just adding to the warning for other potential customers. Maybe suggest removing this post even.

Have a look at Korg B2 ($529), alesis recital (~$500) or yamaha p 45 (~$700) as better alternatives

    • +1

This. But add Casio CDP S100 and Roland FP10

Check out a good round-up of this whole range and more at pianodreamers.com

  • Can include Kawai ES110. Had it for a couple of years before upgrading - great action for beginners to intermediate, on the light side.

Their delivery and customer service is a joke.
They use AU web domain but actually they don't have a rep or an agent in Australia to look at issues related to their products
