  • Does anyone have advice on how to prepare this nicely in an aeropress?
    New to this. Thanks!

    • Would definitely recommend the James Hoffmann ultimate technique for the AeroPress. The whole AeroPress series is really good!

  • The user group on this thread are different to the Barista Bros deal

Do you all wear RM Williams too?

  • ah…bought it few days ago with 30% off…

  • Finally. I'm trying the famous Sumatra blend. I was up to my last bag of enterprise.
    Bought 2kg. Thanks

  • FYI to anyone buying in bulk… coffee beans go stale after a few weeks since the roast. The taste will change, the grind settings will change. Peak is usually 1.5 weeks after roast. Dark roasts degrade faster.

If you're bulk buying pre ground coffee, you should stop doing that and buy a burr grinder. Coffee has like 20min from grinding till it starts to noticeably degrade. But if you keep it airtight, you might get a week out of it. Espresso pre ground left longer than that will likely require a pressurised basket. But seriously, stop buying pre ground….You're wasting your money buying fresh coffee if you then get it ground.

My advice: don't buy light-med coffee you don't intend to consume within a month of when was roasted. Dark roasts, within 3 weeks.

  • Aaarrrrghhh mine is basically done and just wanted to order some :)

  • Ahh damn, missed this. Likely to be a sale again soon on Sumatra or should I try out somewhere else?

  • Just got this delivered this afternoon and Im on my 3rd cup of short blacks, this is truely my top 3 blends Ive ever had.
Im caffine tolerant so yes I can have 3 or more cups and sleep like a baby lol.

    • It is my new favourite as well….

  • Ordered my 1kg bag on the 24th and still haven't received them. I'm going to have to throw out half the bag as by the time I get through it they'll have lost their freshness. Love the Airjo beans but won't be ordering from them for the foreseeable future due to Auspost incompetence.

    • Just got told from Auspost that it may take up to another 3 weeks for them to get delivered. Guess they're going straight in the bin when I receive them…

      • Nnnoooooo I just ordered some this morning.

      • If you freeze it as soon as you get it, might be ok. Grind frozen; don't let it thaw.

        • Don't let it thaw? Surely that can't be good for the grinder. I'm thinking I'll freeze half when I hopefully receive them.

          • +1

@devize: It's actually better for the grinder; produces less heat and more consistent particles as the beans shatter easier. Just make sure you're beans are airtight and air reduced (ideally vacuum sealed, though not a must) and not exposed to moisture. I.e. any frost on the beans would be a problem. That's why most people who freeze beans will separate them into single doses as the frozen beans should be used immediately since they'll degrade super fast if left to thaw.
