We inquired with the manufaturer as to why a product like honey has a best before date. As honey, if stored well, is known to last thousands of years
In the manufatures words "we choose to put best before dates on our UMF Manuka Honey because we guarantee the UMF levels at the end of the best before date. Honey has been used safely for thousands of years without expiration dates."
The product is still safe to consume long after the best before date, however the UMF level cannot be guaranteed after the best before date.
