  • This, or the Colourful iGame Advanced OC? Both are similar in price

  • Fingers crossed for some reference 3080s from techfast for around the $1800 mark sometime this month

So weird looking back at the original RRP at launch.
It all feels like a dream.

    $1139 for a 3080
    $2429 for a 3090

      That's when I became relevant.

    • when can we back to normal price?

      • hopefully in a few months, but I could be dreaming

        • +3

          You're dreaming.

nvidia basically confirmed that they were stopping production of RTX3xxxx's until at least Q1 or Q2 22.

          • +1

@hkf: Woah really? What are they making instead, or is it just "nothing"?

            • +1

@Alzori: 2xxx's and other things I guess. But according to distributors and AIBs they aren't getting any from nvidia directly.

          • @hkf: and AMD is ramping up production of midrange GPUs. So lets see how that works out for Nvidia. I'll be holding out for a cheaper midrange AMD card moving towards the end of the year. AMD are already way better value all around, you can get a 6900 XT for this price occasionally.

That are founder edition price, which had very limited stock. AIB cards are a bit more expensive, check au.pcpartspicker.com

      • AIB cards are a bit more expensive
sure by a couple hundred, still the price is over the moon.
if MSRP was $1109 AUD for a 3080 Reference, AIB is a couple hundred over that a max, the highest end model should max out at $1500 and even that's a lot.

      • Zotac Trinity and EVGA XC3 were both the same price as FE at launch from PLE. I got the Zotac one for $1139.

    • +1

$1998 is standard price for minecrafting.

    • $1139 was pretty rare to actually get on launch. I think PLE did that price for the eVGA cards and that was it. The backlog extended well into 2021.

      • and the zotac 3080, which i was one of the lucky few to get one for $1169 inc postage.

  • I think this has been one of the first times where a 3080 has been posted here but hasn't gone within minutes

    • +4

Hopefully that's a sign people are done buying 72 GPUs at a time.

    • +9

      It IS a Gigabyte

      • Calm down, they make good GPUs. I had pretty great experience with one a while ago too when I needed the cooler replaced (fans were buzzing).

        • They don't deserve respect until they spend an extra $2 to get thermal pads that don't leak oil

  • +2

it seems GPU market is cooling down?

  • $2000 seems the norm for 3080's on special, otherwise it's 2200+

    • +2

      Well done Nvidia and AIBs.
You've just somewhat normalized the price at $2K for a lower end 80series card.

40series launch is going to be a mega shitshow….and they'll sell out.

      • depend on the crypto price, and mining capacity of the new cards.

  • Upgrade RTX30xx is coming soon. wait….

    • famous last words

  • Bought one of these from techfast last deal, arrived within the week.

  • 2k is the price for LHR 3080, it need nearly there hundred days to get money back for current mining environment, that's why it can stay a few days for this price and not sold out in first 10 minutes.

  • +1

Cheers OP, bought one. Wanted to hold but my current GPU is already failing daily :/

  • I spent $2199 on an inferior 3080 just 5 days ago. I truly have shit for brains.

    • At least it wasnt when it somehow reached 3k for a 3080. Then again I dont know anyone that bought for that price.

  • +1

Plan your entry price and wait for the stars to align.

That's how the Innochill X4 3080 via eBay through Afterpay from PCCG for 1699 was achieved at peak madness 2 months ago.

    Surprised still in stock today

  • +1

    Probably the mini version…… /s

  • GPUs still sell like hotcakes, at inflated prices. However, this week seems to be a bit better … but not by much in the bigger scheme of things. Current availability and prices at some popular AU PC retailers: https://thors-stuff.com/gpu-price-availability-10112021/
