Thank you for sharing! Just purchased.
Cashback is capped at $30 though, so total would be $469 but best price I've seen.

Shopback is capped at $45. Cashrewards is capped at $30

      • +2

        Confirming I got $45 Shopback.

Later today Shopback are going from 10% to 30% but the cap is falling from $45 to $30.

          • $5 bonus from 5-11pm, so max is $35 cash back as part of that deal.
  • How do I use ShopBack for the extra 10 %?

    • Log into shopback and enter Rebel Sport via Shopback. Provided you follow the ts and cs you should have 10% cash credited back to your SB acct.

  • Which one is better for rubbing? Fenix 6 pro or forerunner 945?

    • +5

I'd suggest not using a watch for rubbing. Both are overkill for just simple running, just get whatever takes your fancy or is the best price.

The Fenix is substantially heavier. I'm sure that you wouldn't notice it after a while, but I much prefer the Forerunner weight, since I don't notice it moving on my wrist at all. That said, I think the Fenix looks better just as a watch… YMMV.
As petal said though, both are probably overkill.

I upgraded from a 945 to a 6X Sapphire and have done multiple training plans and half marathons with both. The double weight of the 6x isn’t an issue for running. Both are excellent run companions, but the 6x has 3x the battery life (21 days)

    • Both are great, Fenix 6 (just 6 or 6S, Pro, Sapphire, Solar…?) is heavier and a more "premium" feeling watch due to its bezels and case materials. I believe the F6 has a better battery life, you can get larger sized screen, and has better capability for skydiving, deeper sea diving, boating & is more durable (great if you are in the SAS).

    • I bought a fenix5 and sold it to get a 935, I imagine it would be similar with the newer models. The reduced weight of the 935 made a huge difference for me, hardy know it is there, whereas the Fenix I was always fiddling with the tension of the band trying to get it comfortable.

  • dealt!

    thank you OP!

  • good price, used 10% off with RewardGateway - thanks OP

  • Amazon are matching prices FWIW, but generally not better than this because of the cashback unless you find some other way to deal stack.

  • I've been waiting for the 6X Sapphire to go on sale, I notice that it's pretty much the only model Rebel is not discounting.
Would this indicate Garmin is not allowing this model to be discounted (or have stock issues).
Trying to figure out if I wait for further sales, or just go with the 6X Pro now.

    • I got a 6X Sapphire for $699 last November thru a similar sale. I’d say get the the 945 and on-sell it once the 6X Sapphire becomes available.

    • I just pulled the trigger on a 6x Pro, girl in JB yesterday said she just got 70 of them and they "may" go on sale and winked. She didnt mention the 6x sapphire which i'm after, so i just pulled the trigger. Not to say the sapphire wont go on sale down the track.

  • Thank you OP, been watching the 945 for a while, almost pulled the trigger on the Fenix 6 series when they pop up here, finally my prayers have been answered.
    Bless you OP!

What makes these watches so expensive? Excuse my ignorance but I'm new to smart watches.

I remember back in the day people said optical heart rate sensors weren't accurate, so I bought one of those chest straps.

I'm assuming these would be more accurate that the galaxy watches or have more accurate gps?

    • Chest strap hr > wrist strap hr.

You’re buying into the ecosystem and subsequent data analytics and products. Garmin’s activity ecosystem is pretty good, and no subscriptions or paid upgrades required.

    • +1

Yes much more accurate than the galaxy GPS and HR. DC rainmaker has done some comparisons on these for HR accuracy, wrist isn't perfect vs chest strap but they're still pretty accurate if not worn loose.

Looks like JB and Amazon have also got Garmin on sale, Fenix 6s Pro @JB is $646!

    I just bought one..

  • +1

Argh… I want the Fenix 6 Pro. $604 (after $45 shopback at Rebel) OR hold out for BFCM deal? It was $499 in Aug. The dilemma!

    • Still a great watch at a great price.

    • +1

I hear you mate!! It's a struggle for me to pay for something other than the lowest historical price haha! Fingers crossed BF will bring it closer to $499

    • I would just do the double down, so buy it today for the $604 then you are assured of getting a good cheap watch right away. IF they come on sale on BF for $499 assuming they even do the same price as last year, then buy it too. Now you have a BNIB watch you can sell for an easy $605 (i've been watching used units selling for this). Meaning your original watch cost $1 lower then the most historic low.

      Thanks me later.

For those (like me) waiting for the 6X Sapphire to go on sale, The Iconic now has it on sale for $699.30 (30% discount taken at checkout). It’s the brown band (not black) which actually has a higher RRP.
Plus you can stack ShopBack for an extra $25 off as well.

    • +1

Actually looks like a pricing error by The Iconic and they have increased the pricing again. I was lucky enough to pull the trigger and take advantage…
