Flybuys Announce Bunnings & Officeworks Upcoming Partnerships

Moved to Forum by OP request.

Flybuys has announced the upcoming partnerships with two of Australia’s retailers, Bunnings and Officeworks, boosting the value of the loyalty program for more than eight million Flybuys members across the country. Commencing early December, Flybuys points will be able to be collected by members across the Wesfarmers and Coles Group retail businesses. The introduction of Bunnings and Officeworks adds to the extensive list of 23 Flybuys’ partners where members can earn and redeem points including at major retailers like Coles, Liquorland, Kmart, Target and Catch.

I'm just here for the impending nasty comments

    • Exactly why this should be a forum post.

  • Is this a news portal or a bargain?

  • This is just marketing and not a deal.

  • +2

Get back into Ebay will yah .
Cost me a bloody fortune .

  • Get outta here

  • Any bargains?

  • OMG !!!

  • +1

Cheers for the Public Service Announcement

Officeworks used to be included, not sure about Bunnings.

    • +3

Yep, Officeworks withdrew from Flybuys in 2009, so it was a bit strange for the OP to say that Officeworks was “introducing” Flybuys when really they’re actually “reintroducing” it.

In all fairness, Officeworks withdrew from Flybuys before it was relaunched in 2012 as the loyalty scheme we know and love(?) today, so Officeworks has not been part of the current iteration of Flybuys…

I don’t recall Bunnings ever accepting Flybuys.

Yep, Officeworks withdrew from Flybuys in 2009

Are they going to backdate all the points we've missed out on in the last 12 years?

        • +2

I’d love all the points for when I purchased price-beaten iTunes gift cards from them!!! Literally the only reason I shopped there in the past…

        • 2009? Surely you mean three years ago.

  • +3

Wow what a low effort post. No details, generic link, just crap.
And they're getting paid for this.

  • +3

I can't believe it's taken this long. All of these are Wesfarmers businesses. Officeworks has been part of the Coles Group since it was opened (in 1994).

    • I can't believe it's taken this long.

They used to accept Flybuys in the past.

    • +3

Coles have split from Wesfarmers and is it's own company.

      • So they have. They still hold enough to control certain aspects of it, but not a controlling interest anymore. Wesfarmers seems to have maintained a 50% stake in Flybuys with Coles, so there's still a tight relationship there. I haven't looked into the ownership breakdown of Wesfarmers, but given that it was a split where Wesfarmers shareholders got shares, I'd bet that a large portion is still owned by the same people who own Wesfarmers shares.

  • +5

Now that wesfarmers has bought Priceline, hope to see them using flybuys soon!

  • +1

Bunnings + cashrewards would really help my finances lol.

  • Wesfarmers owns Flybuys BTW - so it has always been weird set up as their stores claim to know nothing about Flybuys.

    • +1

Not anymore. Coles owns 50% now and westfarmers only owns a minority share of Coles now.

      • Wesfarmers owns 50% of Flybuys and Coles owns 50%. Wesfarmers own 10.1% of Coles, so in effect Wesfarmers own 55% of Flybuys.

  • Finally we might get some bonus points deals at Bunnings.

  • Are you kidding same message as OP on 7 mainstream news :(

  • Are we actually going to be able to redeem Flybuys points for Bunnings vouchers? That would be a game changer.

Although tradies/builders are going to never need to pay for groceries again!

    • +3

I can almost guarantee that PowerPass and Flybuys are mutually exclusive

    • You can use your earned Flybuys points to redeem Bunnings gift cards through the Flybuys portal, which can then be easily used in-store at any Bunnings location across Australia. To see how you redeem your Flybuys points please visit the  Flybuys website and log into your account.

This is a downgrade. My Coles Reward Card already gives me 2 points per $1 at both of these, so now it's going to be 1 point per $1?

    • +1

You'll get those two points plus one more on scanning the FlyBuys card on the back of the ColesMC.

      • Is that how it really works?

        • Yes, that's how it works. You pay annual fee to ColesMC to get 2 points per dollar. Then scanning the card goes direct to Flybuys for one more point (or other offers etc which give you a bonus)

          • @soan papdi: That's how it works with Coles if you follow the criteria. Let's hope it works for Bunnings.

          • @soan papdi: You pay annual fee?

            • @nocure: I used to. Without annual fee, the flybuy conversion is 0.5 points per dollar IIRC. Made more than the annual fee back, in flybuys dollars.

              • @soan papdi: Got the black card years ago, 2 for $1 spend. No fee

    • -1

Sucked in neggers if it's going to be 3 points per $1. Buuuurrnnnnn

    • +1

Flybuys points cannot be collected on purchases made using a PowerPass credit, cash or 30-day account. PowerPass customers can choose to collect Flybuys points or continue to receive their PowerPass benefits. no good for me..

WHY HASN'T WESTFARMERS BACK DATED TO THOSE FLY BUY MEMBERS WHO HAVE BOUGHT NUMEROUS ITEMS FROM BUNNINGS/OFFICE WORKS OVER THE PAST YEARS.

    • +1

Take everything back for a refund then repurchase with flybuys card.

  • Trade customers allowed to collect points?

    • powerpass or flybuys, choose 1. see link above at bunnings website

      • +1

You’ll need to figure out which items don't attract a powerpass discount and choose to collect flybuys points instead.

  • I have 300,000 FlyBuy points. I used to transfer to Velocity, but Coles has their own travel web site, which I have used many times.
Partnering with these other outlets only enhances the collective prospect.

  • +2

I earnt Flybuys today 1/12/21 at Bunnings.

    • grats!
