I've got $9.90 Rice Bowls at Roll'd (ROLLDEALS) as a dashpass deal but Papparich has no specials

    Vegetable curry mutton?

    • +1

From the same kitchen as a lambington :)

    • +2

Made of mushroom, taste a lot nicer than it sounds trust me!

  • +3

Do people actually like Papprich food though? I went there and was quite disappointed by the quality of the food and service.

    • +1

Eh they are ok. At full price, I prefer to go to my local/family run Malaysian restaurant.

    • +1

Yes the food there taste mediocre at best. Malaysian food definitely better than that. Service wasn't good either and serving is small. Not impressed.

    • +2

Depends where you are from I guess. People who are used to better Malaysian food back from their home country Likely feel it's rubbish

    • From what i was told and in a way what i experienced, When papparich first started in australia it was pretty decent. And when i had it in a bankstown store ages ago, it was decent. But then they started to go down the route of just mass produced and reheat. My experiences at MAc Centre over the years has it has declined quite a bit. The rice is in the shape of a takeaway container and the curries at least from the nasi lemaks come out within a couple of minutes so they are reheated as well. The Roti is made fresh.

They then opened up one at Mac Uni, which is the same price as Mac Centre but serving sizes are considerably smaller, its crazy that people pay for it in mac uni when you could walk to mac centre and get a much larger serving and better quality drinks. But i guess it is the convenience factor.

If anyone is interested in making their own, these authentic pastes make things a lot quicker, and taste good. In Malaysia, nasi lemak is sold with your choice of the main protein (curry/rendang/fried etc). But there's always coconut rice, sambal, hard-boiled egg, peanuts, anchovies, sliced cucumber to go with it.

You'll need to make coconut rice (rice with coconut milk + ginger + salt) and you'll also need the sides like:

    • Hard-boiled egg
    • Roasted peanuts and dried anchovies
    • sliced cucumber

Edit: Recipe for coconut rice - easy if you have a rice cooker (serves 4)

    • 2 cups rice
    • 125ml canned coconut milk
    • 425ml water
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 3 slices ginger
    • pandan leaf (optional)
    • I usually put a stalk of lemongrass and few bay leaves for the coconut rice.

    • I recommend Indofood rendang mix. Quite nice.

      • Indofood makes Indonesian style rendang while Tean is more Malaysian. Both are nice but yeah I prefer the Indo too

    • If anyone is interested in making their own, these authentic pastes make things a lot quicker, and taste good.

      taste good taste better.

  • Delivery fee included ? Can we pick up instead to avoid fees ?

    • I just checked - delivery fee not included

    • its pretty much never included in these types of deal

  • +1

.. still showing $18.50 even when clicked on the deal in the app. Hmm

    • Same here. Could be targeted?

      • Not sure. Even got an email too.
DoorDash has been more of a miss than hit for me when it comes to deals.
Runs for a few days, so maybe will check tomorrow.. but I'll pass today.

That's crap! Special price only works if you order via DoorDash but pick up from restaurant.

    • I managed to get mine delivered?

      • yep I can also confirm it's special price ($10) delivered. You have to choose 1 of the 3 Nasi Lemaks that's on special, not the other ones. Also discount gets applied at check-out

        • All good. Took a while for it to show up on my app.

  • Can confirm it works now. When you open PappaRich, you'll see there is a section called Item Offers. Add the item to your cart (it says $18.50) and the discount will be applied. Thanks OP!

  • Just order the fried chicken one for delivery.

  • Can you choose a store? Says out of delivery range, but there is one store like less than 10km away..

  • Need to pay delivery fee

  • About $17 delivered

  • Is it once off or is the deal available everyday during the promo period?

  • Got one with delivery included, just had to pay the service charge. So about $12 total.

    Quite tasty!

  • +1

Ordered the chicken curry one and surprised that the regular price is $18!

I would happily pay $12 for it, but $18 doesn't seem to justify the 6 small pieces of chicken and rice.

  • Just had this for lunch in Brisbane CBD, was not bad especially compared to alternative $10 choices. My Doordash shows the promotion as lasting until the 14th, walao eh.

  • how???
if i search for papparich on the app and coudlnt find it means they are not delivering to my house, it that right?

  • hmm still full price even though I chose the deal… no promo codes

    • Me too

    • Same here, the discount appeared first time I chose Nasi Lemak, but then disappeared after I tried to toggle between pick up and delivery, dodgy AF!

      • +1

        Reckon this should unobtainable

        • Yes. Now the link to the deal no longer shows the deal.

  • Signed up through referral link but I'm not getting the $15 off any order over $20. Anyone manage to get it? Never use doordash before.

    • That's weird, maybe the referral link didnt go through? You can call them up and ask if a referral code was used in sign up.

      • I closed the new account, and tried 2 other email address and diff phone number. Same, no $15. Jump on chat, they wanted phone number and email from the referral link which I don't have. Ended up closing those accounts.

        • If you have an adblocker, that could be blocking the referral from going through. Incognito with no extensions is the best way to do it.

          • @CodeXD: No adblocker, and I can see the offer on the page, but once signed up I'm not getting any promo code, or applied to my order in checkout.

            • +1

@akte: You can either choose the $15 referral, or $10 Nasi Lemak. You cannot stack both of them.

The $10 nasi lemak is 1 per order as well. You need to spend $20 for the referral to work. I signed my partner up with my referral a month ago and I got the $15 off $20 spend. From my experience, if you are spending over $20, the referral will remove all other offers.

If you are having issues creating an account from referral, you can also call them and ask them to set the referral or give you credit for it.

              • @CodeXD: Thanks, yes, I'm not stacking Nasi Lemak, was after other things. Don't worry about it, I ended up deleting the account as it was too much hassle and the rep I spoke with wasn't much help and keep insisting giving me just $5 credit as they cannot do anything. Next time.
