Ozito Home 12V Hot Glue Gun (Skin only) $3.75 in-Store Only @ Bunnings

830

This was at Port Melbourne VIC store. No longer on the Bunnings site so perhaps on clearance at other stores.

I don't even have the Ozito 12V battery/charger ($30 for batt/charger kit if you're interested) but I figure the skin is so cheap I'll just wait it out for a special on the battery kit or have a go at DIY-ing it. I have the Bosch Glue Pen to wait it out :P.

  • how many did they have left in port melb?

    • +2

      Two

  • Is the battery different to the standard ozito drill battery?

    • This is 12v not 18v like the Ozito pxc deals usually posted

      • -3

Would the 18v batteries from pxc work with this gun or only older batteries?

  • +2

What is the "was" price as nothing is shown on the yellow clearance label.

I know the XU1 drill (also sold at Bunnings) 18V battery fits the stapler from this Ozito "HOME" diy range, so should also fit this glue gun.

    • Are you sure you don't have the PXC version? - I have the 12v Home Ozito Rotary Tool, the 18v Home Hedge Trimmer and the 18v PXC Hedge Trimmer - none of the batteries are interchangeable, they all have slightly different connections, different chargers, etc.

edit: looks like i have a 'plain' 18v hedge trimmer and the 18v pxc trimmer, not a 'home' 18v hedge trimmer. Perhaps the home ones are interchangeable, the 18v non-pxc battery I have definitely doesn't fit the 12v home rotary tool or 18v pxc hedge trimmer though 🤔🤔

      edit2: anddd i've just realised XU1 is a different low-end brand 🤦‍♂️

    • Ok…can confirm the battery fits…….the battery is 18v but the tool is 12v…….will the tool burn out with the voltage difference if I try to use it?

      • +1

Not a battery expert, but I have used the XU1 battery on the Ozito stapler for extended periods and both are still OK.

        At worst, you've blown $3.75 😧

  • Ooo that price is good.

These were marked to $1 as Clearance in Brisbane two weeks ago.

    • $3.75 now in the system

    • +1

Yeah there were a few things from this range marked down, but not the battery or charger which really made it not a deal

    • Price rise!

Checked with Fountain gate and Clyde North, none were available. Cranbourne shows 5 buy guy says there's nothing (unsure if he checked)

    • He lied… My Bunnings always said they didn't have an item in stock but magically it was found when I ordered online for pickup.

  • Good price

Kirrawee had 3 last night - I grabbed one for the marked price of $5 so it was a further bonus when it scanned for $3.75. As others have said it's 12v not 18v. I'll solder some wires on it and use it with my benchtop power supply

    • I thought of this but I already have a powered one, it's gomet so little used its probably better than battery operated

  • +2

I bought one for $5 a while ago for my wife to use.

Honestly, it was crap and she's back using the wired one.

If you're after a cordless one then any reasonable sized corded one (i.e. has some decent thermal mass thanks to a big lump of metal) can be used unplugged for a few minutes before it cools down too much.

    • I can highly recommend the PXC version of the same thing if you already have a PXC battery+charger. Heats up very quickly and lasts quiet a long time n 3.0ah battery.

  • I couldn't see the point of buying when I saw this for 75c at my local.
Good for someone that does though I guess

If you haven't got a hot glue just get yourself one as it's so useful. One of those items once you get one you wonder why you never had it before. The glue is good for artwork. Not a substitute for aroldite or superglue. Bonds item quickly once the glue cools.
