Offer available while stocks last.

For more information please see the manufacturers site at:

The colour differences are rather subtle, I would call them silver with a grey or gold tinge. See above link for a pictures of both colours.

mod - updated deal to reflect that the $449 deal was sold out on 10 April 2012. I'm not sure if the free freight applies to the $749 deal and left a question mark in the title behind it, for the OP to update

  • Anyone have experiences ordering from this store? Wondering if they can deliver by Wednesday next week since i have some relatives going overseas, so i can get some tax back.

    • they taking the tab with them?

    • +1

All orders ship by courier, and in this case would be air bag.

If ordering by Monday morning the item would likely ship Monday afternoon or Tuesday and to most locations delivery is overnight.

Delays are possible, both in our warehouse and with couriers so thats not a promise, just a indication of typical delivery time.

    • Delivery for me was pretty good I think I got it within 3-4 days (Sydney)

    • If only this was posted earlier. Guess ill wait for the infinity then.

  • +1

    this is the old model
new model announced with better res screen, gorrila glass 2 and no wifi issues

    • +4

correct, this model is discontinued - however, a good price for the hardware inside.

    • +5

These are the current model though you are correct that there is a tweaked version with a upgraded screen not too far away. Those reviews I linked mention it.

The upcoming model will cost more, considerably more on release.

I note these current models have a screen at least as good as most current competition (yes, I know the ipad 3 has a better screen, the screen on these model is very similar to ipad 2, still a nice screen — and while we are comparing, even the ipad 3 can't match the CPU in the Prime!).

      • But I'd rather pay an extra $500 for a nice screen, because I'm an idiot :)…

        Nice deal mate.

        • +2

Sounds familar. You don't work here do you!? We seem to have one or 2 peeps who simply have to buy the latest of any brand at any price.

I am told that some of these people, who will remain nameless, also contribute to the cutting edge by volunteering their ipad3s to exhaustive post sale testing.

Testing what happens when a few hour old ipad 3 is picked up by a toddler by its not so magnetic cover, personally I think is above and beyond. But thats the hard core Geeks for you. The answer by the way is a very pretty star pattern overlaying your screen. Sure to be a standard feature next release.

      • u mean the 'new iPad' not the 'iPad 3' :p

        • Yeah man the ipad 2s LMAO hahaha just kidding. xD

  • +2

Done.. bought it.. within 10 minutes of this posting up.. (been looking every 15 minutes for the last 3 days had a feeling something would come up finally)
bought it from Officeworks price matched and got it for $616

  • +1

Man! If only the bank was open now :( I have been looking for a good price for ages!

  • +1

These guys are ace. I highly recommend them. Always good prices.

    • Yep i bought a router from them last year , great to deal with.

As for the Prime i have one an absolutely love it , still use it nearly everyday " since december " and most nights when i stream tv shows to it from my home network as i doze off to sleep :-)

  • Is there a 3G version?

  • They are getting ready to launch the new model.

    Transformer Pad Infinity

  • I can get it 64 for $729!
Soon to be released TF700…hopefully with fixed GPS and better screen!
    3G coming in October

    • Is the release dates final for the Transformer infinity? I know GPS and wifi issues should be fixed since the top of the tablet is plastic

      • -1

actually tf700 will be a while.. if you noticed, there is no news or hype about it(goes to say any android unit)
My guess is ipad 3, performance vs cost it is quite cheap..\
releasing something now would not be smart if people can buy an ipad which is cheaper and more powerful then the asus tf700

        • +1

The price/performance of the new iPad is indeed good. I just don't like the OS itself and it's limitations, also the aspect ratio being 4:3 since I will be streaming alot of media on the tablet

  • +2

Great price for a great tablet. Considering this is cheaper than most retailers are selling 32GB Tegra 2 tablets for, in some case significantly so it's a great price.

The tablet market is moving so quickly, it's nice to see some retailers "get it". How the JB-HiFi's and Harvey Norman's of this world think they can move old Android tech at ridiculously inflated prices is beyond me, given the price of the New iPad.

JB had the Galaxy Tab 10.1 16GB wifi on sale for I think about $430 last week, and it's back up to $473 now. Ridiculous.

    • It was for $433 same as in OW then both went up to $473 !!

    • Harvay Norman have a tablet sale at the moment. Quoted $497 for this unit at JB Hifi and mentioned Officeworks 5% discount, and picked up the gold standalone unit for $472 from JB. Excellent unit and $72 is about as cheap as you'll get at the momemnt.

  • price matched at OW for 616 sucessfully

    • Would you kindly post OW receipt please?

      • no need.. just show them the site.. say i want to price match. show them the site.. and done.. make sure they have stock obviously..

  • Anyone know the Infinity release date? Can't find a satisfactory answer on Goog.

    • Q2 is the target but there really is no exact date floating around. So 3 months max.

I think the wisest decision would be to wait for the Infinity, theres no reason the prices of the prime would go up since most store would want to get rid of their stocks. The more sales you see of this product, the closer the infinity is.

      • longer is my guess.. not hype for it.. news has really died on tf700..
my guess is ipad3 was a bit of a surprise to android market.. wouldn't make sense to sell something soon.. if ipad is cheaper and more powerful..

        • how is the ipad more powerful when the tf700 is a quad core while the ipad is only dual core

        • +1

Core count means didly squat. Take the i5 for example, although it's only 4 cores, it's still faster than amd's 6/8 core processors.

The A5X is a more powerful gpu processor compared to the Tegra 3. But the Tegra has better CPU benchmarks.

The dual core Qualcomm that's going to be in the 3g/4g version of the infinity is going to leap over the A5X and tegra 3.

  • Good price-

I would assume ICS runs better on Asus-Tegra3 tablets than other brands. considering they were alot better with the Tegra2. Asus is quality.

although the ipad3 is very competitive right now. (both $499 at base models)

    Asus = 32gb, microSD, HDMI, Android customizability/hackability.

Ipad = 16gb, Far better screen, Better benchmarks overall vs Tegra3, Better AppStore, Not jailbroken yet.

  • A lot of reviews complaining about wifi issues, anyone have this problem?

  • On OW website (online) the non-dock version is not being sold. And the dock version is sold out. I wonder if that reflects their store stock levels as well.

    • It does not, it said out of stock yesterday online, but i went to my local OW and picked up the last one for $616 (with dock).

      • Been calling everywhere since morning but all sold out in sydney OW display units left

  • I picked one up last night price matched at $616.

I called most stores in Sydney and got it from Wetherill Park. Their system said they had 2, but i'm not sure if the other was a display model.

If it helps someone, I was told last night that Penrith had 2 and Dee Why had 3. But their system includes returned stock and displays.

  • +1

    "The most powerful tablet ever."

So the world really is going to end in 2012?

  • -1

Does no keyboard dock mean it doesn't come with the keyboard or there is no way you can connect a keyboard?

    • +1

      It doesn't come with keyboard.

  • Your 32gb dock+ keyboard is only gold units only?

do you have the same deal on grey?

    • Sorry, for current stock the chepest model with no dock are grey only, the others have the gold tinge only.

  • The computer alliance website is charging me credit card surcharge and shipping charges whereas the deal says 'free freight'? Has anyone experienced this???? A quick response will be appreciated.

    • +1

"The $15 delivery charge will be deducted from your order before dispatch"

  • Is it local stock or overseas stock, especially the one without the dock?

    • +1

We only sell stock from official australian distributors, so, yes for all.

  • Just like to let you know that the Prime for $499 has all been sold out.

  • Now that Computer Alliance is sold out of 32Gb models, any news if stock's coming back in at this price?

If not any other deals on these at the moment? With dock preferrably
