Got an email from Google store with black Friday sneak peek. In the disclaimer it shows that if you order a Pixel 6 it comes bundled with the pixel buds.

If you have google one you get extra store credit.

        Do you see any colour shifting bands when not looking perfectly straight on? I get green and pink colours mainly on a white screen with only a little off centre. Been offered a replacement but kinda worried will just get one with the problem back after a few I asked.

    Beware of the fingerprint scanner. Near useless if you are using it in the sun or outdoors

      Yeah the fingerprint scanner is a royal ball ache. It was near impossible when I first got it (regardless of light) but with the hacks and I guess muscle memory kicking in of where exactly to place my finger, I'm getting it to unlock within the first 2-3 attempts. Still pretty shit though and I'm hoping for an update that improves things. Other than that though, I'm loving the phone (even the massive size of it has grown on me).

        Do a fingerprint scan for both day and night. Really helped for me.

          I love how small things like these require some hacks to function properly. Google should've focused more on these things to better the user experience than advertising the tensor and material you everywhere

        I've got the 6. I found doing multiple scans of my two thumbs in different angles and conditions (you can save up to 5) made a massive difference. Now, I pretty much unlock my device the first time I use the fingerprint scanner, and it seems as fast as the fingerprint scanner on my Pixel 3 XL (which was on the back)

        I'm more concerned that I managed to unlock my phone with a fingerprint I hadn't even scanned. Either I have two very similar fingerprints or the scanner is trash. Inclined to go with the latter.

      Mine took some getting used to for the first couple of hours

      Pretty much unlocks 9/10 times on the first attempt now. The "0.5 sec delay" to unlock doesn't bother me TBH

    Anyone know if you can get the pixel buds as part of the price match promise thing google do? I've got the 6 and the $100 credit or whatever is less than the pixel buds.

        Price match only works within 14 days of purchase.

        Excludes bundles and promotional prices (I don't believe the pre-order was promotional nor a bundle though)

        No haven't tried since the deal isn't released yet officially. Also as TogTogTogTog mentioned above they do price match within 15 days and I got mine on like the 2nd of Nov so will probably miss the cut off.

    The Buds don't have on-board volume control - you have to use Assistant to command the volume to go up and down, which I'd prefer not to have to do in public. Anyone else have experience with buds that don't let you adjust volume up and down on the bud itself?

    I placed an order at this place on the 25/10 and all I get is Order Delayed. They are almost impossible to communicate with. I can't cancel my order (Option not available) even though I can buy the items 5 minutes away. On the 30th, having got a call back from California, they say you can't cancel it because it's in the warehouse for packing and they will escalate it. Still says Order Delayed today and emails go unanswered. Then I read the reviews

      Oh damn that looks bad, when I preordered I stumbled upon a Whirlpool thread comparing JB and the Google Store and they seemed to have good things to say about Google. Part of my order is "delayed" too..

    Bloody Google are tightarses, especially with how they already added $100 extra margin on our price. This is worse than what the farce they had for students price at preorder. It looks like Boxing day when they go on special then.
