I am an existing Coles Mobile user. I had already set myself to Autorenew on 23 November for a 25% discount, however I just received an SMS from Coles to say as part of Black Friday / Cyber I can get a 50% discount if I recharge.

I've just done that now and got my $150 365 day plan renewed for $75.

Coles Mobile uses the Optus Network.

    not on coles myself but this is the first phone deal for long expiry deals i've seen where it's a benefit to existing customers lol

        Yep, although it's not always better than current offers. I recently came up for recharge at $90 for 60GB including the 25%, but at the same time they were running a $89 for 85GB promo and their customer service wasn't making any exceptions. Oh well, I won't even use the full 60GB anyway :D

  • My dad is in the same situation, received a SMS for 25% renew, wonder if he's got the 50% offer now.
    I was going to help him churn to Vodafone to get 150GB rather than 120GB from Coles, but this might entice him to stay.

    • If your dad has still got some spare data on the Coles plan, then there's also the data roll-over to consider - If you recharge before expiry, you can roll-over a maximum of 50GB.

    Wondering why other carriers never reward their existing customers. I always had to get their new sim kit with discount to migrate my number onto via customer service if I want to renew my plan cheaper.

      Because they would rather keep customers who don't or can't be bothered to churn/constantly look for better deals. It's called sample selection.

      The 25% deal is Auto Recharge.

      You could try it now and see what they will charge you. Yes, you'll be recharging a month early but potentially saving 50% instead of 25%. Plus any data you have left rolls over.

    • Same here, mine runs out on 14/12 and I bought a recharge a few weeks ago on special for $119, I'm slightly annoyed at not being notified earlier and missing out on a better deal.

        It drops in around a month ago. With 14/12 you should get it in a couple of days. Not sure if you can return the recharge though.

  • Thanks maverickrulz, they did say at the time there were no refunds on recharges, even at $119 it was still a pretty good deal.

  • My dad received this offer - his plan expires on 19 November and his Auto Recharge was off.

      Utterly uniform coverage across the entirety of greater Sydney.

      Nah, just kidding, it varies.

      • terrible in my experience, i previously used aldimobile/boost on telstra network and had no problems.
        now i sometimes have zero reception and can't check in using QR code.

    Can i buy this for use later? Is there any validity on it?
    My current Coles plan expires mid-Feb 2022, so still 3 months to go.

    • it's either on offer for you or it isn't.

      If yours expires mid Feb you are not going to be targeted.

  • My service is expiring on 27/11. I have never had auto recharge on and have received nothing.

  • I have a Feb 2022 expiry would it make sense for me to buy a voucher from the coles counter and then use it later? Or is this only targeted offer so voucher wont' work?

    • It is targeted (I got an email and a text). Someone in the comments above said your expiry date had to be prior to 30 Nov.

      I'm certain a voucher will not work.

    I contacted customer service, apparently only those who opted for marketing communications via SMS has received this offer. If you haven't then you missed out this time. Opt in and hope that you'll receive this promotional offer next time.
