The only catch I can see is that it has a Docomo Logo.

Actually I would like to know if anyone used them?

  • I think Docomo one also doesn't support all bands.

    • This is what I see in the specs:
      3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100

  • iiBuy are OK, better than MSY but not by much. Can pick up in store and no queues.

  • Warranty is RTB warranty which stands for Return To Base Warranty. By base they mean them right? And since I live in Sydney, i can just drop it off to them in person?

  • Awesome but needs to go under $400

    • won't be too far from $350…

  • all the way in rockdale

  • So u can pick up in store?

    • If you can that would be awesome but read somewhere that showroom prices may differ to online store so that doesnt sound promising :(
      Heres description on their FAQ:

Our showroom opens to general public six days a week. Simply drop in and take a quick browse of the item you may be interested and our friendly customer purchase adviser is gladly at your service. Please note the retail section is independently operated from the online team, therefore, prices at the showroom may vary from the online store’s. Depends on stock availability, certain items are for online order only.

  • wasnt this posted yesterday for aud$290 from amazon japan?

    • it was but that version only supports umts 2100 I think, so would not be Ideal for us OZies.

      • There should not be a version only supports umts2100 but I9250m is not support HSDPA 900. Although there are many different model numbers for Galaxy Nexus, there are bascially two types only - GSM/HSPA+ (I9250/I9250m/SC-04D/SHW-M420S/M420K ) and CDMA/LTE and they all can be can be flashed with a Google-controlled version of Android codenamed "yakju" and "mysid" respectively.

Lol if it's docomo branded… Why don't we just order from jap amazon for 290+ shipping?
Not much of a deal to me

    • Because you need to root a standard ROM and use FXXKdocomo to unlock SIM + no warranty at all. For some people, this may worth aud$100 but TRUE Ozbargainer should try to save even as little as 1cent!
Please note the docomo student promotion will be end next Saturday(31/3). So there will be no more 16000yen(~aud$190) Galaxy Nexus floating in Japan Yahoo/amazon.

  • Us this phone unlocked? Can't see that in the spec

  • I had set myself a price point of $400 (pick-up is fine for me) and now keen to buy but can anyone kindly confirm if Navigon software with Australian Map will be available for download for free on this phone please, I mean given it is Docomo-Japanese?

    • My wife's galaxy note is India version (bought from shopping square received at the begining of this month) can be installed the navigon australia for free. So i petty sure it should be fine. But the MAP is very average, i mean compare with TomTom, and you need to pay extra for safety camera alert which just warned me about 50%+ speed camera on my way to Gold coast from sydney 2 weeks ago.

      • Trapster. it's free, and has all the fixed cameras, plus as many mobile cameras as other users upload (which is quite a few on my travels up the hume highway). Doesn't do navigation though :(

    • I doubt!
I have a SGS2 and a Nexus S! Navigon works on SGS2 but not on Nexus S. Even though its made by Samsung it might not work!

      • But Nexus S is not under Samsung/Galaxy, right?

        • Just checked Samsung's site. They have mentions Navigon in Galaxy S2 and Note. Not it Galaxy Nexus.

Even though its made my samsung its google's phone. So i presume Kies and Odin won't work. (which is Plus and minus)

Ps: Samsung Kies wont work on nexus s, so cant take local backup of contents (if you are against cloud computing). Well google has all ya details anyway.
Samsung Odin wont work on Nexus S, so you root and install custom OS easily.(no Odin bull shit)

    • I wouldn't worry too much about the Navigon software. Tried it out few times on my SGS2, seems like Google Maps works far better. Just that it uses your download, I get 2gig a month, so it's all good.

      • Thanks for the comments everyone, while I agree Navigon is not great but at least the voice is clear and no data download required. Just can't stand that robotic voice which is sometimes had to hear on Goggle maps and furthermore if you are in low covergae areas then you may problems using Google maps.
Hence I'd like to have both options just in case, but it seems opinions are divided if the free Navigon download will work.

        • Its true with low or now network coverages areas!!
But don't count on the voice though! Need to pay extra to get fancy voice pack! And I doubt it will read the street names with the voice pack!

Same in CoPilot!! only machine voice reads street name! It uses the same text to speech engine!

        • Google maps has an option to cache ahead the maps. so as long as you don't go too far off your planned route, you can download the maps on your home wifi before you head off….

  • I'd like to know is RESET turning on and off or HARD RESET?
If GOOGLE ICS 4.03 ever gets on this thing, will Unlock sim and reroot be required?
Can you post walkthru to use TENSO…..your friends Optus one still going strong?
    No warranty hey?
Where do you get 16000yen it is 27500 yen?

    Can you pickup from iibuy?????
I cannot see any pickup option?

    • my friend bought it only 2 days ago. He said it would take 4 days from seller to TENSO and another 3 days to australia(still faster than shopping square which need 10days to deliver the Galaxy note to me.)
He said he need to set up an account in Tenso, then put the the account number with the delivery address.

If you are not Japanese Student and live in Japan, forget about the 16000yen prize tag.

        • no idea but people said yahoo jp is cheaper. however i don't think yahoo jp can display in english.

  • In CHROME translate works….yahoo jp ??????
    You mean http://www.yahoo.co.jp/???

  • Can not pick up instore, :(

  • I would of got this if i can pick up in store, $35.00 shipping is a rip off
