Australia Post Mistral Tools Delayed Delivery

Hi, I'm wondering if others are still waiting for the tools they ordered to arrive.

From this post on the 1st of November: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/660396

I haven't received mine and the last tracking update says they arrived at Mulgrave, Vic on the 9th. A week ago.

Also when I look at the tracking it says they cant 'safe drop', whatever that means and they have an option to redirect it.

I don't want it delivered elsewhere. I'm always home. I want them to deliver it at my home. You know, do the thing we expect the postal service to do.

I realize it's the busy period, but it's only going to get busier. This is stuff ordered from Aus Post's own store on the first of the month.

alright, I need a Valium sandwich and a lie down.

    Safe Drop

Got a busy day planned? Don't worry, you don't need to stay home to receive your parcels. With Safe Drop, you can still receive deliveries requiring a signature when no one's home.

With this free service, just choose a safe spot at the delivery address and we'll leave your parcel there for you.

If you are always home then you don't need to worry about Safe Drop.

    • ah I see. Well they're saying they can't do that for these items. Which is understandable I guess. I hate waiting for things.

Aww damn. I ordered something from the ACT, and it's been stuck in Mulgrave too since thursday.

    • can I interest you in a half eaten Valium sandwich?

Yes. I'll have it with a few beers, and by the time I come out of the coma hopefully my computer ram (which I desperately need) will have arrived

We run a business and at the moment I sense delays at AusPost are a lot worse than we are being told
Our experience is that items are sitting at Mail Distribution centers for a week until the containers are unpacked.
And to think that AusPost executives receive mega $ bonus' for doing a goo job - oh plz!

My last AusPost package got from WA to Melbourne in less than 3 days, and then sat in a Melbourne warehouse for nearly 4 weeks.

I finally got a parcel sent from metro SA to metro VIC, after 6 weeks!
Same route other times recently has taken 10 days and 7 days. Previously it be 3 days max.

Well, Auspost took 3.5 weeks to deliver my parcel Metro VIC to Metro VIC <10km away.

    Your expectation are too high.

I have items from mid October that are still undelivered.
You currently have to wait 4 weeks before they will investigate?

  • Yeah ordered coffee on express post, sent on 5th November. Stuck in system. From Fitzroy to North Melbourne and then dead in waters.

Ordered some car mats on normal post from Adelaide, sent on Monday and delivered Thursday in Melbourne.

This isn't a backlog due to sheer numbers. It's just an utterly incompetent system.

You're better off sending something interstate and then asking for a redirection back to get it on time. I should try that for a laugh.

  • Any movement on yours yet?

My tracking was updated on friday to let me know 'Delayed – waiting to be processed for delivery'

As if I hadn't figured that out from it sitting there for a full week.

    • Yesss got it today
Total of 9 days transit from ACT to VIC, with 7 of those being stuck in Delayed Sorting hell

  • Mine arrived yesterday 23rd Nov
