  • Taxes starting from $117 to $156 each way!! Airfares should not be advertised without including taxes!!

    • young_dazza, thats a fair comment, and it's annoying, but to vote down a deal, that is a bargain because our laws permit this, just reduces the deals ranking and means that some here might miss out on this opportunity. We are here to share deals. Not all deals will suit everyone

Your point would be better targeted by sending a letter to the ACCC rather than posting here.

The poster did mention the tax imposition in the deal posting.

Although there is a dilemma in that headline rates will vary depending on departure and arrival locations as each has different taxes and charges as you have already pointed out - maybe that's why the ACCC hasn't acted already.

      • See comments by others below. Most people would agree that when you post a deal you should include all applicable charges, such as postage and taxes, hence the -ve vote. Im not the first to do this. Without tax this deal looks much more attractive than it really is. Same as those $1 Jetstar flights that they used to have.

Regarding the ACCC, they have already mandated that advertised fares must include all taxes and levies, so no point emailing them.

Seriously I was considering a holiday to Vanuatu as a result of this posting, but when I saw that it excludes taxes which represent 150% or so of the price, that changes the equation very significantly.

      • I dont think a complaint would work… its an international website… based in New Caledonia (where laws may permit such behaviour)

        Viva Macau does the same…

Irrespective… with taxes, its a good price

        • Don't you mean Vanuatu? :)

  • Note the reason for the sale. Vanauatu is best when visited between May and October.. ;) The dry season.. as opposed to the wet.

  • Title implied "Only $99" which the only cost to pay, however,
Should update the title to say $99 + Tax .. for more clarity

  • Agreed. it says only $99, we need the title to be precise.

Otherwise this is just like any other items that cost $2 plus $20 shipping.

and you dont post it as "önly $2"
I think we will include the shipping too right? "only $2 + shipping."
