said it before and ill say it again, bought a thermaltake case and powersupply… case is falling to peices
few egs: back plates holders broke,
the water cooling flow meter system leaked, or made an annoying clicking sound or stopped the water flow.
the fans are loud, and have had to replaced one under warranty already.
door broke, top USB cover is useless.

there warranty was decent, but yeah had a few issues with thermaltake. read a few issues with them on whirlpool as well…

    • Google x and find y..

Owned a thermaltake case for like 4 years and it was great, dropped a trasmitor on it and broke the plexi (small hole) and crushed the rolled steel on the side door but it still went strong. Also my default 430w thermaltake psu was rocking, ran my 4870 fine even though I didn't trust the wattage or the 12v rail specifications.

      • +2

Mostly because 430w peak/ 350w stable is more than enough to run 4870. My C2D E8400 @3.6G + 4870 only uses around 240W at peak but yet manufacturers would recommend you to use at least 500W PSU to power it. That is the way they make money. I have been using a budget thermaltake 380W PSU ($45) for about 4 years.

        • They rate it so high because they expect you to use crap power supplies they won't deliver the wattage on the box ;)

    • none of those issues sound like they apply to the PSU specifically?

I've had one in a PC for a few years without issues. Thats not to say none have problems, but I'm not sure I'd base a buying decision on a cases design being flawed.

      • just the fan, but i dont know if its the case fans or the PSU…

but yeah the tough power is supposed to be better again.

  • I have this. its pretty good and it's quiet, just the way I like it and it haven't fail on me yet :p

  • Anyone know how much is shipping to metro sydney?

    • You can use a shipping calculator on the website, add the psu to your cart, in your cart select shipping estimator.

are any of their other PSUs on sale?
    or just this one?

and where did you get the coupon code for this pSU?

because im looking for a 850w or 900w psu.

    thanks OP

  • +1

shipping to VIC metro is $8.25
    paypal surcharge 2% !!
credit card surcharge 2% + 3 steps cc processing required (wtf).

    and ofcourse
    PLEASE NOTE:
Store pickup for internet orders is not an option at this point in time.

so im weary of buying it now

because MSY and PCCGEAR sells it for $135

    • +1

Wow, that's annoying. PCCG have a 2% cc surcharge too, and postage is $12 at PCCG so it's not really that bad.

I'd just use direct deposit IMO.

      • +1

hey OP where did you get the coupon code for this pSU?

          Centre Com's Facebook :)

        • thanks =)

    *Thermaltake
    *High-end

    Pick one.

  • +1

ehh.. $18 shipping to Syd + paypal/credit card surcharge kills it.

  • About $130 after everything is factored in. Bummer. If MSY's at $135 is correct at least you have a shop front for warranty issues to take it back to. $5 for that aspect is probably money well spent. Pass on this deal sorry.

    Thermaltake lol

Friends dont let friends buy thermaltake.

Its a good deal, but if your running anything even remotely decent hardware wise i wouldnt reccomend it.

  • +1

Use code TTPROMO15 on mwave to get $15 off the current price of $135 = $110 pickup

    • Thanks!!!!

      But isn't that total $120???
      If its $15 off

Had bad experiences with thermaltake before, but after just buying a new PSU I found this great review site, they literally pull the PSU apart! Best breakdown, explenation and test of PSUs I have ever seen.

Anyway in short this PSU looks good.

  • Here's an alternative if you're worried about Thermaltake. Top brand, fully modular, reasonable delivery, $129
