If you want it to look like the tree in the pictures, you would be better off spending a bit more and getting a 600 LED Lumations set from Costco.

    • Unfortunately they’re out of stock

  • I hear people say the 250 is pointless and you need at least 600 to get a decent look? Any idea?

depends on the size of the tree. twinkly have their own calculator online.
      https://www.twinkly.com/leds-calculator/

    • Yer I put on 300 of the 600 all around the tree and it is no good. Can't see images like batman signal.

But it's good just for the basic flashings ones.

      • I have 600 on mine (7ft) and those batman/skull/pumpkin/etc ones still don't work well. I think you would need to hang them in a line or something to get those working well.

  • Anyone tried the Twinkly Flex RGB Light Tube before? I was thinking about getting one and making one of those cool looking corner light setups with one.

  • Anyone have experience with the Twinkly Curtains?

    • For curtains, it's 10 (lines across) x 21 (lights down) schema - if you want to use the animations it is better if you have more than one set. The single set isn't bad alone - the effects are decent. There was a firmware update a few days ago that adds HomeKit support if that is your fancy.

Suggest you download the app - there's a demo mode, which you can see what is on offer in-app. You can make your own effects as well.

    • The Gen 2 are different i believe.

      • How can you tell? Packaging looks the same.

        • Its not clear but the title and description refers to Generation II in it

      • Hard to tell on david jones what gen they are. Differences are here https://www.twinkly.com/faq-items/which-are-the-differences-…

DJ description says "Twinkly Strings goes beyond the traditional decorative Christmas lighting with a Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi controller". Bluetooth should only be in gen 2. That said, hard to confirm so I've removed my neg.

Edit: Looking more closely, the pic says "Gen II" on the box under the big "Twinkly" logo.
