Mirabella Genio 1.4m RGB Pixel Corner Light $49 @ Kmart

1322

Saw this on Kmart website under Black Friday. Been looking to purchase an RGB corner light online and cheapest comparison $94.59 on Kogan which is non- Wi-Fi and without power supply. Kmart's is a great price at $49 however, not sure quantities they will have.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2021

  • Got 2 from Kmart Taylor's Lake Vic, should be like 5 left, people keep asking where did I get these on the way out.

  • There are more @WarringahMall, Sydney - roughly 10-15 @8.30

  • Bought 2 this morning at Kmart Wethrill Park. They were still on pallets at the back

  • heaps left at ingle farm sa at 9am. also on pallets at the back

showing as out of stock online at the time when i went and grabbed it

  • Not listed on website but they have store stock. Just got 2 from Greensborough VIC. 9 left on the shelf. They’re near the electronics section/craft section. I would have guessed they’d be with the gamer stuff or lamps, but nope. Random shelf!

  • Grabbed 2 from Northland, as of 15 mins ago there were probably 10 more on a random pallet to the left after you walk in the store.

  • +1

11 left in Kmart Chadstone VIC, I grabbed 2, so I think there are 8 in stock.
    Be quick.

  • Grabbed two from Campbellfield. Even though it is showing as out of stock online in your cart, if it shows as In stock on "Find Stock in store" then most probably it is available in that store.

    • I reckon this is it

  • Rookie error, forgot kmart gift cards can't be used online after buying a whole bunch :/

  • 7 left at Brunswick VIC.

  • +4

Thank you, bought one, I don't know why.

  • Bought two and installed one as a bedside light.
It actually looks cool and light can be very soft.

  • Plenty left at Altona North if someone wants them!

  • Just grabbed one from Brandon Park Kmart. Around10 left there. Its nicely hidden away in the bottom row just after the entrance. I don't think its going gangbusters in that Kmart anyways.

  • +1

Heaps still available at Airport West VIC Kmart just now.

  • +1

Sounds like these are all available in the shops, but just not available for click&collect.

Thanks Kmart, for wasting my time on your site.

  • Is it possible to set these to a warm white colour?

    • +1

      Yes it is

  • Despite my order being placed at 8:36am this morning, I just got a cancellation email at 5:28pm. I'm guessing the overworked staff only got around to picking my order then and "oops, looks like there's no stock left on the floor". I hate the click and collect system of Kmart.

    • Yup, order placed at 9.20. Cancelled around 3PM. Immediately checked the online delivery stock and there was less than 5 so just ordered 2 for delivery. Hope it doesn't get cancelled.

  • So for those who got it, are they any good? Any regrets?

    • +5

I got 2. They look better than I expected. Definitely worth it. No regrets.
Looks really nice and modern IMO

      • Are they bright enough like fill the room fully in particular color?

        • These are more for mood/ambient lighting rather than filling an entire room with light. It can do that in a pitch black room though and works well as accent lighting in music/sound sensitive mode for parties etc.

  • Does anyone know how to sync them together if you have multiples? Couldn't figure out in the app. TiA

    • +1

They don't sync unfortunately but I have setup Tap-to-Run under Smart tab that turns both the lights on or off at the same time and puts it in the mode that you configure in that setup. Both the lights are set for the same pattern under that function and seemed to work well except for music mode which doesnt work no matter what I try.

      • Same with mine lol. All we can do is set up tap-to-run I guess. Not as convenient as Philips hue or lifx but for $49 can't really complain. I'll probably get a couple more later if not oos yet. Cheers

        • Did you notice that no matter what mode you choose, the lights are just white in tap-to-run. Pretty useless I say. Its only good to turn them both on in the smart mode…sigh!

          • @abovethelimit: Mine's fine with colors. Try choosing colors first then setup tap-to run. That's what worked for me at least

    • Yes you can scync together. You need to add to a group to enable this

      • Nice idea, but that doesn’t seem to keep the lights in sync. You can turn them on and off as a group, sure, but not synchronise them

  • Sorry, what is the point of this?
I will prob get neg for this comment..

    • +1 for self-awareness

  • Got one in south Brisbane, plenty of stock

  • +1

For those still wanting to get one, I had two click and collect orders cancelled. Decided to just go into the store where the order was cancelled and lo and behold, found them on a pallet next to the electronics section at the back. This is despite the website claiming the place was "out of stock".

As for the product itself. Box is very long, couldn't fit it across the seats and have both doors closed. You'll have to angle it or have it running front to back or you can try putting it in the front seat with the seat all the way back.
Was fairly painless to get it hooked up to the Mirabella Genio app and from there, get it all linked up to my Google Home Assistant.
Lights aren't blindingly bright; they're there to provide ambience and mood and there are quite a few cyclic patterns built in to play with. The default speed is way too fast though but that can be adjusted in the app.
Music sync is a fun addition if you're looking for that. Obviously it lags a tiny bit to the music.
For $49 you can't really go wrong. Highly recommend if you want a fun light around the house.

  • Can anyone confirm if there is still any stock in-store around Vic? Late to this and would appreciate it if anyone could confirm

    • I bought 2 just now from Southland. Around 5 more available. Be quick!

      • sanctuary lakes. heaps more.

  • Placed an order this morning, received a cancellation email later in the afternoon. Checked the stores, was showing one available in Roselands, NSW. Drove to the store just now and found 3 boxes piled up and waiting to be taken home :) 2 left, if anyone still needs…

  • Sold out online but saw there was stock left in Boronia Kmart, so went there after work and picked 2 up, lets just say I'm glad I only forked out $49 for each of them, even on the brightest setting they hardly make much of an effect on the wall at all, I thought they were actually change the ambience of a small room dramatically, maybe my expectations were too high but not what I expected.

    • -1

Yes, it’s cheaply made for sure. LEDs are low-quality, but like you said, what can one expect for $49? Probably worth like $30.

Goes spastic if you reduce the brightness too much. You can set it to orange colour, but voice assistant orange is more like yellow… the LEDs are kind of cheap. Most of the effects are garbage, but hey, at least they tried. The biggest omission seems to be that you can’t “paint” the individual LEDs an arbitrary colour.

Worth $30, perhaps, but not a cent more.

12 volt, 1 amp adapter (i.e., max 12 watts). Obviously, reducing the brightness from 100% (white) will reduce the wattage.

    • P.S. You have 60 days to return

  • heaps more at sanctuary lakes kmart. grabbed 2. worth it. heres how i set up mine with govee lights attached at the back of my tv.

    • +1

      Wow, nice setup!

      • -1

Yes, but turning the Govee lights off would perhaps demonstrate how weak and pathetic these Kmart corner lights are…

  • Burwood store has 5 left, just need to go to the service desk and they have them in the back.

  • +1

FYI they are Tuya based lights like all the other Mirabella Genio stuff - so you can use the Tuya app instead of the Mirabella Genio one and then connect them to HomeKit using home bridge.

I just selected LED strip with wifi + bt when adding to the Tuya app.

    • Does home bridge require a computer to stay on and act as a server?

      • Yes, but one could use a low-power-consumption device such as the Raspberry Pi.

      • Yeah. I run it on a raspberry pi zero.

  • Did anyone get one that can share a picture of it?

    • Did you see changot’s post above? The bottom part isn’t visible, but you can get the general idea.

  • They had stock in Queanbeyan, worth the drive. Parking was way easier than Belconnen (where my click and collect order got cancelled), overall the Kmart there had way more things on the shelf. Just have to remember to wear your mask and have the service NSW app ready.

  • +1

Does anyone know if these will be back in stock again?

  • mine arrived today, bent.. returned it for a refund.. anyone know of anymore instore stock for Sydney? around Lidcombe. OOS online.

  • I bought two lights. Both shipped from the same store.

In the app one sets up as a Smart Light. The other sets up as a Y-Smart light. They’re totally different colours on white (one is really pink tinged and one is a cool white). Super frustrating.

  • Bought two and worked fine until today. One only partially lights up now, about 1/3 of the light doesn't work. Anyone know how to fix broken LED strip lights? :( no stock near me so it'll have to be a refund

  • +1

Yeah I think these lights are all botched. Bought 4, and returned 2 so far. One kept flashing brightly every few minutes and the other has 2 spots of green light that stay on when you turn the light off.

The 2 units we still have, we only unpacked today so have used for <24hrs

  • Now available in WA. Picked on up for my son's Xmas present.

  • +1

For what it's worth (and if anybody is following this thread still), I couldn't get this integrated with my home assistant nicely. I had one of these to try out https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/384161736086?ssPageName=STRK%3AM… and can confirm it flashed with WLED fine and integrates with home assistant well.

I had to solder the plug from the kmart controller (vcc, data and gnd) but it was a pretty painless process. flashing is a bit harder, you'll need a usb to ttl adaptor to flash wled on

    • “FairyNest” — I like it!

  • Can't believe I forgot to check this last week here in WA :( two cancelled click and collect orders from two different stores later and it now appears to be completely sold out everywhere.. Bummer!
