  • Phuket, let's all go to Bangkok

    • Barfine?

    • And avoid all the crowds!

Great to see airfare listed here again, been a long silence

Yeah, but whats not so great, for Thailand at least is that before you even start your holiday. add about another $600 per person for PCR tests, insurances, and the mandatory 1 night in hotel quarantine, oh and the now tourist tax Thailand is preparing to implement.

Don't look so cheap all of a sudden.

      • These extremely important details should be included in the posts promoting these "cheap" airfares. Thailand is amongst the strictest of the countries that are "reopening"…

you can get a good hotel for $200 that includes the accomodation, PCR test, Airport pickup, All meals… you have to quarantine until you get the PCR test back, usually 6 hours, then you are free to go. you have to wear face masks when in public areas (the fine is $1000AUD), Get insurance through AXA as that is the one recommended by the Thai Embasy and it's really cheap.

That is not entirely true if reports are to be believed on a popular thai forum, that many guests, to their disbelief, thought that all was inclusive however ended up paying much more than what was advertised.

I would read the fineprint very carefully and clarify such deals, as the PCR Test is usually about $120 - $150.

          • @TilacVIP: You have to book a package with the hotel, not just a hotel room. check out these hotels https://asq.in.th/?refundPolicyFilter=1&maxPriceFilter=5500
The Lohas Residence is great and everything is included for 5000Baht with Food, PCR test, Airport Transfer etc

            • @lukelegend: Thats still an extra $200 just there, about $100 to $150 before leaving Oz, covid insurance, another PCR test on return and we are now over $600 extra than we use to have to pay & then we are threatened with a 20,000 baht fine [about $800] if you are caught without a mask outside your room. No appeal whatsoever at the moment to visit.

Looking forward to returning to Thailand one day but not under these current conditions.

    • There is not much out there atm. Hopefully as more flights resume, more deals start popping up.

Hope they don't take your money and run

    • That's the game we play these days.

  • 50-70 year old Aussie men are rejoicing!

    • no, not yet, red light district still closed, no go-go!!!

  • Annoying they no longer do direct from Adelaide, not even Bangkok I believe.

    • I don't think Thai ever flew to Adelaide directly?

      • Long time ago, I'm pretty sure I flew there direct!

  • +1

They still owe me $5500 so never Thai again

    • There seems to be a lot of people in this situation.
I purchased a discounted flight that was subsequently cancelled for "commercial reasons" and it's been an agony dealing with their customer service to get the refund through.
Used to be a good airline, but seems that as things turned due to the pandemic, they have decided to reduce the customer service standard.
