I noticed the SNOO Smart Baby Sleeper mentioned (and heard about it for the first time) in this thread about items recommended for parents to buy for a new baby by magwri. Aureliia mentioned the SNOO goes on sale on Black Friday. The prophecy has been fulfilled:

Seems to be a luxury item, but for those interested it's 25% off for Black Friday. I am unsure of the dates so I have listed the expiry as until tomorrow.

If I were to have another kid I would definitely buy this. There's no price on my sanity. Oh and they have high resale value.

We used one and it's amazing. Highly recommend it.

  • Thanks for the input. I am umming and ahhing but slowly getting convinced. It sounds like buying a piece of sanity and with the high resale value sounds almost too good to be true.

+1 for the Snoo being a lifesaver. Bought one last year during a similar sale and our little one finally started sleeping well (and so did we!).

Pro OzB tip: there's a market to rent the Snoo to other parents, as many can't justify the ~6 months use for such an expensive bassinet. I've been doing that since my kid outgrew our Snoo and we've already made what we paid for the initial purchase :)

      • I hadn't heard of the rental market for this. Thanks for the tip!

      • How do you make sure someone doesn't just steal it? Make them sign an agreement? Trust?

        • Kindershare - they work like a middle man just like airbnb (naturally, they take a cut of what you rent out too). Renters pay a deposit for whatever you rent to them. I think you can choose how much the deposit would be? It was about $500 for me.

We had one for our second child and it honestly did not work! We paid $1500 and sold it for $1300 on marketplace. He is a pretty stubborn child and had to go 2 sleep school twice so I’m putting it down to his personality. Bub#3 is on the way and j pulled the trigger to try again. Usually they have 40% off for Black Friday so 25% was disappointing but I’ve heard they have had logistic issue due to Covid.

We bought one for 40% off last year, used it, loved it, then sold it for more than we paid!

    • 40% off sounds great. When was that?

Edit: I just saw CatInTheHat's reply above about 40% off being during a previous Black Friday sale.

Hands down best purchase we’ve ever made - would recommend. Only problem is now trying to wean to a cot which will be interesting.

  • Good feedback on here - just bought one. Here's hoping…
