 - Correct
 - Yes, Displaylink driver is required. - Thanks, also, in your listing, it says NO SUPPORT on Mac OS 10.13.4 or later, are you saying that it won't be compatible with M1 Macs? - @evanjd: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/19632… - One of the reasons was this. I have an intel mac on Big Sur and it works fine apart from clamshell - The full list of mac issues is below

 - Avoid!
 Displaylink uses high CPU.
I used to have Dell D6000, when using two screens it slowed down my laptop so much that within three months I had to sell it off for 50% and get a WD19TB.
WD19TB worked fine for 18 months. Now it has started having fans issues. It suddenly starts sounding like an hair dryer (even when the room temperature is 15C; that too intermittently, so more annoying.
Thinking of trying something fanless like Novoo 12x1.
 - Also many of the usb-c units don’t have the bandwidth if you want fast ethernet, high display and multiple USB devices. I have a few and they drop out after a few hours (ethernet, display, laggy mouse). Many users report device failures after a few months use. - Performance users should aim for a thunderbolt dock if they have the little lightening icon next to usb-c port. They are ~300aud though but important if you are WFH and don’t want to drop out meetings

This is a displaylink hub, meaning I need to install drivers?
