Literally was looking at this amp yesterday, definitely jumped on with this great price. Cheers op :)

    • cheers.. I would love to hear what speakers are you planning to pair this with..

      • Late response my bad! I have a Jamo setup with 2x S606 Towers/S60 Bookshelves/S60 Centre/2x Technics SB-CD101 (Retro with beautiful sound)/Jamo and XMS Subs running in 7.2, previous amp was Yamaha RX-V765 that I got secondhand and never had a brand new amp so decided to spoil the speakers with brand new wiring/connectors and got it all ready for arrival 😊

  • How does this compare to the entry level Yamaha amp that comes bundled in the kit?
I am starting to invest in better speakers… not that my currently one sounds bad, however it doesn’t handle 4K pass through and full volume well

    • Wow something must not be setup right if you are going anywhere near full volume.

      • Ok not full volume. Full “listening” volume.
        IE -20dB.
It seems like when using 4K passthtough and ARC, it can overdraw it’s power supply or something.
It does also power the sub itself

  • Thanks OP, time to upgrade the ol' 2310

  • Any idea if I'd see an improvement in sound quality over my Pioneer 1130k? I'm running Yamaha NS-777's towers, NS-444 centre and NS-333'S for the rear surround and heights.

    • I've got the same speakers.. Anyone know how this amp compares to the Yamaha rx-v673?

Does denon have an app that can function as the remote?

      • I wouldn't think you would hear much difference for listening quality. Seem pretty similar in specs for power. What this receiver has is the extra features like Atmos, DTS-X, multi room and Dolby Vision pass through. If you have many files or discs that have Atmos or DTS-X (streaming is nowhere near as good) and have speakers to utilise it then it may be a benefit. Otherwise no point in upgrading. Atmos is very film dependant and most only have a few times per film when the sounds actually come through the height channels.

        • My receiver is dead 😭

No sound comes out from any source.. So have the 5.1 plugged into nothing, and the other two speakers in my garage hooked up to a bluetooth fosi amp

          • @Kammi: Then this is the best amp you can get for the money by far

  • Need more AV deals.

    Bumbed i missed this.
Looking to upgrade my system piece by piece.

    • I think Dec end sees some more deals.. am also waiting on that for buying speakers now.

      • I've only one of those $1000ish Yamaha complete AV systems.

Would I be best upgrading the AVR first or speakers?

        • Am quite noob on this.. I did avr first and Based on what it can support and medium room size I will get speakers.

    • Its $749 on Amazon

  • Received it today, was sent with just a shipping label slapped on the manufacturers box, saying "steal me" pretty much. Luckily the delivery guy was nice enough to hide it.

    • Lol. Same. should have at least put in another blank box. Lighter than I thought it would be. Can't really do much as I don't have speakers yet..

      • Just set mine up as I just swapped it for my older Denon, it's such a breeze to setup this one and finally having all consoles and chrome cast away from the TV and into the receiver with only one cable to the TV (and the optical) is such a neat freaks bliss

        • Great job.. happy with quality?
