    Ethernet Surge Protector

    Never heard of this…

      Might be a niche product.
I personally don't need this, but someone might find a use for it.

So this is more for their beam antennas and such rather than other PoE devices (eg cameras). Makes sense as the antennas would be mounted on the end of a pole in most cases.

  • Showing as $22 for me?

Failed to add to cart and plus ops bad link

  • God damnit.. I needed one of these. Last thunderstorm took out my USG and my switch

    • They need to be earthed to work. Not so easy to do inside.

      • Buy an AC mains plug from Bunnings for $3, and use some mains cable to connect this to the MIDDLE pin on the plug 👌

Leave the Live and Neutral pins disconnected. Plug it in to a power socket.

        Voila.

        • Wave goodbye to your house insurance…

    • That's not likely ethernet surge then unless you've got an antenna of theirs on top of a pole outside. That's just general surge on the electrical line. Get yourself a good UPS.

      • Outdoor Ethernet cable most likely to garden shed.
        It’s underground mostly

        • Ah yeah that might do it.

Probably a good idea to replace in ground copper with fibre and some media converters. Would certainly prevent future equipment fry ups.

  • Bugger, missed it…
