  • Coles price match.

  • How this compare to the Aldi 100% Arabica medium roast 500gm for $8 roasted in Melbourne with roast date within 4 weeks?

    • If you have a date on the beans you consume and you care about it, don't ask, this could be roasted yesterday or a year back so it does not really compare. Does not make it bad, jut to each his/her own. Try it out though, I am going to cos even if you bin it or gift it, at this price it is a steal. The Aldi one's are very good at that price because they are constantly sold out so freshness is almost always guaranteed. Thank OP.

Completely different. This Oro has a different flavour from all the other coffees I have tried. You need necessarily test them and decide your favourite. My experience with this is I loved it for a while then I got bored of it.

…But the Lavazza coffee is 100% guaranteed to be stale. It's roasted in and shipped from Italy. I don't understand how stale coffee can be considered anybody's favourite. It's literally gone off.

Maybe you had a bad batch that has been damaged by heat or it has been in the store for a long time. Personally I never found a stale pack of Lavazza in my life.

          • @Laziofogna: yep, it’s nitrogen packed to stop oxidisation ….also each bean is laser checked ….if the bean looks bad a puff of air pops it off the production line …..i too cycle through brands of supermarket beans, big difference to me is more roast level between brands when it comes to flavour ….even roast levels within a brand makes a big difference ….

      • And what do you prefer now ? Since you got bored and may I enquire what other coffees have you tried so far and from which roaster ? Or do you roast your own in which case what beans have you tried so far since this is very different from all the other coffees you have tried ?

        • I have tried many commercial brands, and all the Lavazza. The flavour of this is very different from a classic coffee. I never roasted but I have tasted some from an acquaintance that does it and it was great. He just uses one of the popcorn air thing sold at Kmart.

I would do anything to save a dollar but drinking this supermarket beans is not one of them

  • Having this now, bought it around $10-$11, it's very decent for the price right now ($7.65 delivered).
