Did You Influence Someone to Regularly Use OzBargain?

I have been member of this community for over 9 years. There have been few impulse purchases where I wasted money but overall saved tons of $$$ being part of OzBargain.

Until last year, my partner thought I was crazy and spending too much time on mobile and also wasting money due to OzBargain. Eventually my partner realised the benefits when I showed them few deals which saved me over thousands of dollars.

My partner although is currently not a member but spend more time than me on this website now and often picks up deals and notify me.

Did you influence someone to become addicted to OzBargain?

    That’s the way.

You can check out any time you like, But you can never leave.

    • She found ya!

      • Considering I got 3 negs that means 2 people at the minimum are full of it.

        • Could be the twins she had and didn't tell you about

        • ghost accounts?

    • Haha you were asking for it with a comment like that!

Only needed to be 1 neg. If they're going to do a half arsed job they should make it -30.

    • From all my cross referencing, I've concluded that jv is your wife "life partner"…

      • AKA fast Eddie from Fluidtek.

    • Wow with that many negs you must mean “exes” or your ex really hates you!

      • Now imagine if I was lying. 9+ people are about to look really really dumb. Considering I said only 1 ex there's already a few.

        • I reckon your ex would see your username as Clear as day.

          • @rompastompa: Hey ex I saw your mum at Woolies the other day and she's really excited for you to come down for Christmas. It's been a couple of years.

Should be clear as a day now.

  • I have a few friends who will check it maybe once a week or so and then be slightly annoyed they missed a good deal from days ago.

One day they'll start checking it every 10-30 mins like most of us do.

I really doubt you save thousands of dollars. The most popular deal from the last 30 days was the $10 bonus gift card with $49 Amazon purchase lol. The first page of the popular deals page range from saving $2.50 to $45

Saving a few thousand is definitely possible. Especially if it's over a few years, for big items and in comparison to someone who might otherwise just buy at RRP.

Oh true, I saved over $5000 from the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range deal.

But you would have known about the government subsidised EV deal even without OzBargain as it has been on the news quite a few times. ;-)

    • These 3 deals alone have saved me close to $4k within last 1 year. You can easily save money if you see the deal at the right time.

      • Nice deals !!!

  • Parents have finally got it into their head to ask/check for a code. They've started logging on too. If only they remembered to ask about Senior discount 🤦‍♀️

  • I'm always referencing ozb to bargains i've picked up so yep

I haven't influenced anyone to use ozbargain but my time on here has led to:

    • My wife saying "Don't you have to check ozbargain or something?" rather than the more generic "Don't you have something better to do?" when she wants me to leave her alone.

    • My kids saying "Get off ozbargain" rather than "Hurry up" whenever I'm taking up the toilet.

    • My mates asking "What's that cheapskate site you always use?" when they want to check with me if something is good value.

    • My kids saying "Get off ozbargain" rather than "Hurry up" whenever I'm taking up the toilet.

      LOL

The husband knows about OzB but I'm okay if he doesn't use it regularly, we have enough LEGO as it is :P

  • I got my partner hooked on OzB. You’re welcome Scotty.

Someone from Melbourne meetup last night told me that he has been telling his international students about OzBargain as part of surviving Australia. Hopefully that ended up influencing someone.

My partner; a twice daily bargainer put an old lady neighbour onto it and she can’t thank him enough every time she sees him!

  • Yes! all my friends hahaha

I really enjoy sharing a bargain and I also help them with their purchases so I became the go-to guys for the better bargains. For the most part, I just help them navigate the website. some of them are addicted and most just casually browse for the occasional sale
