This enhancement available only on iOS, Android look out for announcements in the coming weeks

The service fee is charged when you group funds.

The fee per-person per-transaction is 12.5 cents, plus a percentage of your share of the total transaction. This percentage varies depending on your funding source, and the transaction amount.

For all cards except Amex, customers will pay 12.5 cents in fees, plus:

  • 1.95% when your share is $0.00 - $199.99
  • 1.25% when your share is $200.00 - $499.99
  • 0.80% when your share is $500.00 - $999.99
  • 0.50% when your share is $1000.00 and over

Amex customers pay 12.5 cents + a fixed percentage of 2.75%

When paying with Groupee via BPAY, the fee per-person per-transaction is 27.5 cents, plus 0.95% of your share of the total transaction.

Don't forget to add a referral code to app after downloading it. You get the $5 sign up bonus once you activate the Groupee Mc and do a $10 transaction. Paying off Credit cards via Bpay and others like Ubank are prohibited thus won't work. Its best to pay your utility bills like Power and NBN etc in advance. Any tips on how to maximise your cash back returns let us know?

I don't understand quite a bit of the post.

    • +1

ok i edited it to make it a bit more easier to understand.

  • +14

which genius decided to name their business groupee

    • Hehe good point !

  • +1

    Not many reviews anywhere

  • +4

The reviews are horrible and some people are even complaining about losing money. Customer Service apparently doesn't exist.

  • Where's the T&C?

    • Would also like to see the T&C's… wondering how they determine "per bill" if I pay the same biller code twice does it could as 2 bills so I should split payments into $2000 lots.

  • +3

    Looks dodgy af

  • +1

The signup process is actually really annoying. You have to give them access to your contacts to proceed.

  • +3

Fees are stupid high, 2.75% + 12.5c on amex to top up…

    • 10-2.75%=7.25% still good value

    • then use visa ?

  • +2

    Used it successfully

    • Used it to pay a bill via Bpay or load a card?

    • +1

And the 10% cashback is instant too, loaded into this app's debit card.
Though it took a few tries to use the BPay function successfully…

      • I just loaded $50 into my card on the app, charged $51.10, however still only showing $50 on my card. I do see reward points of 550 not sure how to use the reward points

        • Oops I mean the cashback got loaded to the debit card after BPaying in iOS app…

          • @nignucial: All good. Only got it to work with Bpay bills nothing else.

  • Fee is 0.95% and 27.5c flat on BPAY exc Amex

    • So 9.05% cash back then… Hmm not bad.

  • Is the max payout amount $200 or $150 (stated on their website)?

  • Anyone else able to get Bpay working on Android?

    • Don't worry the ios guys are whacking it lol :)

    • BPay is an ios feature only for now

      • Just curious.. what is this BPay feature you are talking about? is it related to the post or a different app from appstore?

        • I guess you only get cashback from them if you use the "BPay feature"

    • +1

Bpay is only working on apple ATM but you can split the bill with a friend thats on Android so they will get 10% back too.

  • so Bpay here isn't the aussie BPAY (utility Bill PAY) .

This is YABSA (Yet Another Bill Splitting App).

  • +1

I spent a lot of time registering an account and it said "cannot pay bill alone".
So, I asked my partner to register as well.
When I finally can pay, it said"the biller is prohibited"
    Excuse me?

I am worrying about my personal information now.

  • +1

you cant do a bpay to pay of your credit cards off unfortunately i tried didnt work with ubank so there are some restricstions. best pay your ultility bills ie NBN, rates, ATO etc in advance. let me know if you know of any other creative options.

    visa and MC fees
    fees:
    1.95% from $0.00 - $199.99
    1.25% from $200.00 - $499.99
    0.80% from $500.00 - $999.99
    0.50% from $1000.00 & over

so it works out cheaper if you pay the larger bills off

    • Total fees for MC/Visa BPay is a flat 0.95% + $0.28.
Total fees for Amex (regardless of BPay or not) is a flat 2.75% + $0.28.

    • @baserker where do you get all those fees info from… ?

      • +1

        What are the fees?
The service fee is charged when you group funds.

The fee per-person per-transaction is 12.5 cents, plus a percentage of your share of the total transaction. This percentage varies depending on your funding source, and the transaction amount.

        - 0.80% when your share is $500.00 - $999.99
        - 0.50% when your share is $1000.00 and over

Amex customers pay 12.5 cents + a fixed percentage of 2.75%

When paying with Groupee via BPAY, the fee per-person per-transaction is 27.5 cents, plus 0.95% of your share of the total transaction.

  • got email outlining their new fees back in january :

""From today, our fees will change from a fixed % fee to a sliding scale, which means that larger group purchases, such as big bills, bougie dinners, crew getaways, and flights (we live in hope!) will see a massive reduction in fees.

These changes apply to all Mastercard® and Visa, debit and credit funding cards. There is no fee change to other card types at this time.

    __

Our fees now vary based on the value of your share of a payment:

    1.95% from $0.00 - $199.99
    1.25% from $200.00 - $499.99
    0.80% from $500.00 - $999.99
    0.50% from $1000.00 & over ""

    has it changed since>??

  • +1

thanks for that info nignucial ive updated the post with all the fees listed. so for BPAY, the fee per-person per-transaction is 27.5 cents, plus 0.95% of your share of the total transaction. Thus best to split the bpay with only 2 people in the group.

  • +2

    Complicated fees structure.

  • +2

$19 in deductibles fees for $200 cashback. Thanks legend.

  • +1

App is down for major system upgrade until 10am AEST tomorrow… just added $100 to the app >_<

  • Can I pay a bill by registering just one account? An early comment in this post seems to suggest you need to register two accounts to get this to work?

    • You need 2 min

  • Can you pay multiple bills to get the 10% cashback assuming each bill is below $2000 or is there limit on cashback you can receive?

  • So can someone correct me if I’m wrong.

I need to download the app
    Add money to groupee
Pay a bill with their bpay
And get a friend to share with me or something?

    Then I get 10% back?

I’m a bit confused with how this deal works.

    • +2

I need to download the app
Nominate a primary card to fund the transaction
      Pay a bill with bpay
Split the cost between 2 people, cough up 0.95% transaction fee.
10% of the purchase gets loaded onto a digital mastercard so you can spend it.

  • Anyone else failing with second payments? Within my groups limit for the day.

    • You can update the limit by clicking on the three dots in the top right hand corner.

      • Yeh did. upped to $4k. still didnt allow a second payment. Also hesitant to pay any more via this app until i see the money actually in the account that i paid.

  • Has anyone try paying out the same BPAY ID multiple $200 pay out and receive the cash back multiple times?

    • No luck at the moment. Only been able to make one payment a day, on day 2 at the moment, then the second “Bpayment failed”. Anyone been able to make a large second payment?

      • +1

I will try one and see how it goes. They seem to be maintaining all the time.

      • no luck - seems to be one BPAY payment a day

Oh well missed out on an extra 200 bucks (minus fees)

        • $3000 max a day. Got a reply with the online chat. One more day of 10% off tax bill 😭😭

  • It almost feels like there's a per biller limit of $3000 per day…. after which it just keeps failing.

    • you’re right. daily limit of $3000

      • Is that per group or per person?

  • IOS App is triggering me to select two groups but "Next" button doesn't work.

    Does anyone has workaround here?

    • You'll need to invite someone to the groups if I remember correctly.

  • did live chat got ""Our system is having an upgrade till Wednesday*, there was just an error with the copy. Apologies!
You will be able to use the app tomorrow morning!"" hope it works tomorrow as its the last day to get this bpay offer

  • Can the shared bill be paid from 2 groupee accounts from the same bank account?

    • If you have 2 different cards for that account then I don’t see why not.

  • I was able to finally able to create group but when I select BPAY, it says "cannot group funds also alone".

The other group and spending limit is showing at top.

What I am doing wrong here?

    • Have the other person in your group create an account?

You can also change the amount on the spending limit

      • I rang them but it was sorted but now can't make 2nd payment

Bpay keeps on failing. They said it's a known issue and try in few hours but nothing has changed.

Looks like only 1 payment is allowed per day :(

        • Yeah same happening here.

Created new group. Added new card. Added new BPAY biller

Still won’t let me do a second payment

          • @TheGuru: Their server is down since 5pm

            Missed over $200 :(

  • +1

yep its all over now which was early. I missed out paying my voluntary super not sure if it would have worked any way. Oh well managed to get $50 paying other bills. Lets hope the April promo is just as good.

  • +1

Offer has been extended for April but only first Bpay payments are eligible.

    • My email says:
Receive an instant 10% cashback on your first 3 bills shared via our BPAY payment feature in the app.

Would that count a bill partially paid last month on the groupee app already?

      • Has your Bpay payment from last month already received by the merchants?

        • I haven’t checked I just started paying my tax bill

          • +2

@kirkleton: Can you pay ATO in advance and then get it refunded?

            • @Ash-Say: I’m not sure. Let me know if you find out because I’ll definitely do that if I can

        • does anyone know exactly how long it takes for bpay via groupee to arrive and be received by the merchant?

i need to pay some stamp duty and it needs to arrive before 19th April. last time i paid my nbn bill on 27th march but it only appeared on their website as paid on 6 April. So i wonder 11 days it took if they are banking the interest? even with 3 days public holidays for Easter it was way too long. so beware if you dont pay bills way before they are due as you might get hit with a late fee.

          • @coolsteps: As far as I’m aware, it doesn’t matter then the funds clear from BPAY. Transaction date is taken as the date payment was made via BPAY.

  • I create one account but don't know how to add friends?

    • i know its bug ridden. best get a friend first add their number to your phone and create a group name . have both phones apps open then do the invite by entering the code when they are nearby to accept request.
