  • Dedicated Server - $49/ Month

How much is it to buy outright?

    • +1

It's a cloud hosting cost, not a physical server.

      • Just to clarify, i do believe you are indeed renting a physical server in their data center - not a cloud virtual service (such as linode, amazon, etc) but yes, you cant buy it outright.

    • Cant really but it out right, its a hosted service

  • VERY VERY old processor..

    http://ark.intel.com/products/33924/Intel-Core2-Quad-Processor-Q9550-(12M-Cache-2_83-GHz-1333-MHz-FSB)

other than that, the price looks fine..

It's not important to have the latest processor since it's not going to be used to play games, but serve web content. As long as the overall capabilities are sufficient for the job.

    • Sorry missed that rule

  • what location(country) is the server?

    • The location is in the link mate.

      • Thanks DUDE!!!

  • Company is US based so I guess the servers are?

    • "Hosted in Our New York Datacenter" according to the linked page.

Turnkey Internet is in Kansas city. They're mainly just using HE transit.

Not a deal, they've ways been offering at this price point.

  • first post referral link, almost neg worthy. Although he's Aussie, so i'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Welcome to ozb, have a look around and you'll get used to the rules etc

    • Sorry my bad, i read all the rules associated with store Rep's etc to see if i had to tag myself as one, missed anything related to referral links

I'm an Aussie, i thought it was a good deal, to took it up myself and thought id share it, hard to get good cheap hosting in Aus…

  • Any ideas as to how long this special will be around?

    • Deal was meant to end last week been extended till the 9th from what i hear.

      • Thx dude. have signed up to have a play with it using ESXI. 10Mbit might be light on though… anyway, seems like quite a good deal compared to what everyone else is offering.

Thats actually not a bad price, though they dont mention how long it'll stay at 49$ for (or at least, I cant see it), like is it 49$ for the first month, 99 there-after?

  • Why is this so much cheaper than the other servers listed on their site? The deal seems very good, just I'm a bit suspicious of the cost differences.

    • Crap old hardware…

  • I did end up ordering one of these, but thought it ridiculous to pay for the 'escalated delivery' of 2 days… been waiting since 03/04 now and no word from them. hope this is not an indication of their customer service.

    • That sucks to hear..
