Sony X95j Profile Set up

Hi, i just got 75" X95j delivered. While I'm happy with overall quality but I read somewhere that some TV reviewer (Vincent?) has a better setup to maximise colour profile, local dimming, etc. I just can't find it for some reasons 😜. Any help/tips of tweaks or references will do. Thanks and have a great weekend.

  • RTings publish their calibrations for the TVs they test - just keep in mind that LCD panels can vary due to manufacturing differences, so someone else's calibrations may not work best for your TV, even within the same model.

    In RTing's words:

The following are the results of the white balance and colorspace calibration on our unit. They are provided for reference, and should not be copied as the calibration values vary per individual unit even for the same model and same size as the TV we reviewed due to manufacturing tolerances.

Thanks, i got a big discount but it's a purchase that not needed (but wanted 😂😜). Having said that, if I can re think, I should have gotten a projector instead haha. Thanks again

      • Gotta ask, how much did you pay? Or have you got contacts that got you a good deal :P

I purchased during HN sony promo before 6th lockdown. Paid $3988 plus $500 gift card which I used partly for extended warranty. I know extended warranty may not be for everyone but 5 years piece of mind for $4k purchase is worth it I guess. Thanks

          • @Bargain-er: Awesome, cool. I'm in the same position as you, a want but by no means a need. Been smashing the overtime at work and seems less and less likely overseas holidays are going to happen soon. Need something to reward my efforts I guess.

Hope you enjoy the TV, looks really awesome….

            • @BugsBunnyAUS: Same position, cancelled trip 3 times n always want a big TV. If ur room is not as bright or has a backlit look at short throw projector option. I saw it as cheap as $4k for a 4K Sammy one. And u can buy a portable projector screen for $100+ now for up to 120". I think it's more satisfying. I have large windows but ended up closing them anyway. Haha

              • @Bargain-er: Floor to ceiling windows and full morning sun unfortunately. Otherwise I'd most definitely be saying stuff it and getting an OLED.

                • @BugsBunnyAUS: Ah u may need to take same path with mine. I didn't get oled or projector for the same reason.

Was tossing between x95j or Sammy q85a but opted for x95j for better anti reflection n google TV. Hate Sammy OS… Yuck
