  • Thanks - will give it a go. :)

    • FYI - Just cracked my first can. Not bad at all. Perfectly drinkable. Thanks OP.

  • Thanks, how this compare to the heinekens?

    • It doesn't, stock with the Heineken

  • Curious, how close do these taste to their alcoholic counterparts?

    • -1

For me heinekens zero are almost the same as their alcoholic brother

      • Can't agree at all. I bought one once on a whim while getting pies, thought it would make a great combo, but found the zero undrinkable. It's been a long time since I've had Heineken but I'm sure I could drink it.

        • Agree, this was pretty crap. It tastes a bit odd and the sugary after-taste wasn't pleasant at all.

  • +2

It is a bit odd I can go get a carton of full-strength beer from Aldi for less that the sale price of an alcohol free beer.

    • +1

Alcohol free beer costs more to make because they have to remove the alcohol.

      • What do they do with the alcohol they remove?

        • +1

Add glycerine and sell it as sanitizer.

      • +5

Even still the tax from a 24 can carton is $17.32 alcohol tax and $4.73 GST. Plus they are left with alcohol they can repurpose and sell. It isn't manufacturing that drives the price but rather tax.

  • Great price for 0% alcohol beer! I usually buy Coopers Birell that is less than 0.5% alcohol and it is $7 for six 375 ml bottles.
Bought two boxes of Carlton Zero. The second one is only $4 less though - just keep in mind.

  • are these zero alcohol or zero calories?

    • 0% alc/vol. 106 Calories per can.

      • +2

dammit! I wish it was the other way around

        106% alc/vol. 0 Calories per can.

then I'd buy like 10 boxes

  • Something for $10 more and 2.4% that would be 100 X better than none hehe :)

Carlton Zero is disgusting, definitely the worst tasting of the 0% "beers". The strong chemical taste present is overwhelmingly awful.

    I’d drink if I was paid $29.99
