  • $20 min spend so no free stuff again.

  • Pretty sure this is targeted.

  • +26

The pictured CC is a whopping $66.75 ($56.75 less the $10 coupon) and still more expensive than the $38-$39 every major retailer is selling it for. These eBay deals are becoming more of a joke every time.

This Chromecast is pointless/obsolete now. Might as well buy Amazon firestick or Google Chrome TV - much better having the remote.

      • +6

I agree - I was merely highlighting what a "non deal" this deal is. The $35 firestick cannot be beaten on value, though the CCGTV (which costs 3x more) is the better device.

        • how does the fire stick 4k max compared to CCGTV?

          why CCGTV better?

          • @pinkybrain: App support.

            • @ESEMCE: do you mean the google play store have more apps or what do you mean by this?

              • @pinkybrain: You have to sideload apps to fire TV as it doesnt have play store

              • -1

@pinkybrain: There are many services that either need to be sideloaded or flat out will not work on the Fire Stick. (Kayo and Apple TV+ are two such examples of apps that will not run at all)
There are few, if any, services that do not work natively on CC devices.

                • +1

@ESEMCE: The new Fire TV 4k max actually has Apple TV+ now, but still no Kayo. If you don't use any of the unsupported app, the fire stick is much more of a bargain than Chromecast Google TV.

                • @ESEMCE: I got the Amazon Fire TV Lite about 5 months ago for my mother because it has Apple TV+ without needing to sideload.

                  Works great.

                  • @toasty: Cool, strike that single application off the list of incompatible apps then.
                    Add on Binge instead..
It doesn't make my statement incorrect. FireTV is slow (at best) to get support, particularly for Australian Services.

      • It's good for casting stuff from your laptop still. But not worth the price tag. My original chromecast v1 works fine. Don't see the point.

I do have Firestick TV non max and max

  • +6

Correct me if I am wrong. Sorted from lowest price to Highest price. The cheapest eligible item costs about $30…so what's the point of "min $20 spend"

    • +3

We just have to wait for @doweyy to get some items added to iot.hub/oz_accessory/gearbite ;)

      • +9

Most likely not this time around unfortunately, but I'll try :)

        • are you associated with the store?
or the seller listens to you?

          • +32

@pinkybrain: Not associated, I just organise deals with the seller on behalf of the community to benefit everyone where I can.

Let me guess, you are an OzB maximizer?

Definition: An OzB maximizer is an individual who consistently seeks the optimal outcome for any deals posted on OzB. OzB Maximizers tend to be perfectionists but the terms maximizer and maximizing are particularly associated with decision-making processes rather than describing a generally uncompromising approach to life.

I am the same! Now give us some items that's exactly $20 and not a penny more, eBay!

      • +5

        OzB maximizer

Mods, please add the above definition to the OzB wiki.

        • +4

Shouldn't it be MaxiMiser (pun intended)

    • +2

Report them for false advertising. Coles did a 3000 points with any click and collect (minimum spend $20)…yet the minimum click and collect is $50. I submitted a report. Super easy these days.
Basically shits me wasting my time on promotions that are advertised like this as 50% off, but 33% is the reality.

  • +7

So are there actually any deals? $10 off means nothing if the starting price is $10 more expensive than elsewhere or the only eligible items are crap no ones wants.

    • +9

No deals that I can see. People see "$10 off eBay" and blindly upvote the deal. Anyone that actually clicks on the "eligible items" might not be so loose with their upvote.

    • Depending on what you need now. I saw a humane animal trap for $35, so it's $25 after discount. I bought a similar (if not the same) from amazon not long ago for $45

    • +1

If there aren't any deals than it's just an ad

      • Yep its usually just a garage sale list. Never the items people actually want to go on sale

    • Terrible boozebud deal, $191.98 for two forty spotted gin - was under $100 for this a couple weeks ago.

    • just random useless items nothing more

  • ebay is really trying to push for ebayplus, is it really worth it?

    • +1

Depends. Only if there is a good sale on, like the last eBay plus Black Friday deals. In that situation it’s probably best just to purchase the monthly subscription, only a couple of dollars, so that you can save tens or even hundreds.

    • I have more than 3 accs on it - in fact, eBay pays me $20 net profit to get the membership with some OzB hacks by stacking this and this

Even the deals each year pays it off too

    • +4

I was an eBay Plus man for a few years, but recently dumped the renewal and converted to Amazon Prime. Next day delivery is a game changer & you get extras on top of the free shipping (i.e. Amazon Video).

I do agree with some comments that eBay does seem to jack up their prices quite a bit too - especially when comparing directly with Amazon listings.

  • Looks like PLUS10XM got removed now.

    • All the same garbage on offer tho

  • +3

Looked at if from lowest price and its all overpriced rubbish .
Merry Xmas from Ebay is not 1 decent deal !

  • +8

Doesn't look to be any deals here. Who's voting these up? eBay reps?

  • You can get some pretty cheap Eneloop pros

  • +2

    crapola

  • +1

Yeah they mighty eBay garbage sale is back on!!!

  • +2

Gerber Dime multi tool seems a good price with the code and free shipping

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gerber-Dime-Multi-Tool-Plier-Ger…

  • +2

Got $10 off a slab of Asahi 500mL cans.
    Thanks OP :)

  • +1

Works on a bunch of eneloop listings. $29.50 for 8-pack of AA Eneloop Pro is pretty good here.

    • advertise as $41.99 less $10 = 31.99
      price increase

      • Cheeky bastards. I hate the jacking. They add $2 to the price in exchange for losing me and hopefully others as a customer for life.

  • +4

I have checked a few items listed and all of them are available cheaper from other stores without the code so jack is busy doing its job and it does it well.

  • +1

Couldn't even find a USB flash drive in the "eligible" product list. They're just pushing trash or high prices.

  • no more ebay
just end up cancelling their yearly memebership
and yes ebay paid my $49 refund after long battle

    • How long did you have ebay plus before you asked to cancel it?

    • Last year they gave me $5 a few months to spend this year $5 with min $50 spend.

  • Hows Jack doing this time

  • Ebay Plus runs at tomorrow right nothing to buy to use this up.

  • Can you use this code more than once (on different items), the description seems to suggest so, just don't want to waste it that's all
