anyway i found out the solution thanks for trying to help..

Turns out you can only change it on the top of the checkout page, not the product page (before you can do it on any page)

BTW how did you find the code?

        • Banggood's AU Facebook page

          Coupons are listed here

          • @adr8: ok thanks…for the codes link and the currency help

so they hidden it under ship to link which is not very obvious especially since it already defaults to Australia most would not think to click there..

The USD/AU currency used to be I think where the flag was and showed the currency as a link as well

            • @pinkybrain: I hadn't realised they'd changed the location of it either, but it is there for me on product pages?

  • Did anyone else read this as JBC?

  • Anyone else get "This coupon is not available for limited offer products"?

  • I have a different version of this i purchased for about 80 on ebay a few weeks ago.
Best unit I've used and replaced my old dicksmith which had a problematic heating element.
Soldering things together now take a few seconds with ease. Mine uses the computer cable so AU plugs weren't an issue.

    • what is the link + model you bought?

  • I cant seem to get the free shipping now
Was free shipping for a limited time only

SOLVED as mentioned above just change shipping details or phone number and save to get free shipping

  • Been waiting for a deal on the TS100 for ages now, might jump the gun and get this instead!

    • interesting stat, "5919 clicks" but only 500 buys

      • +2

I probably clicked around 15 times before i got free shipping and there were a lot of others doing the same

  • Sad. Decided to bite but now sold out

    • Same, it bit back so no sale.

    • i tried last night but banggood would freeze when I tried to update my address. Put in a reminder to buy today, alas too late :(

A week later, I still haven't received this item due to both Banggood and their Aramex/Fastway courier being incompetent.

  • has anyone received this yet?

    • +1

      Yep
mine arrived on Gold Coast yesterday
      Works well
Anyone know what model replacement tips will suit this unit?

          You are not alone
I usually seem to have problems with Aramex/Fastaway too.
There was a segment on Current Affair about them recently.

          • @zuby: funny enough is that aramex replies me with this:

This is inbound freight from overseas which we understand is distributed through sortation hubs either in Sydney or Melbourne.

The label number is a valid Aramex label number; however the tracking will not update until the parcel enters the Aramex network - at which time it will be scanned to confirm its domestic journey has begun.

i guess will have to wait the time frame longer than an order from aliexpress.

        • Usually takes about 2 weeks for me to WA and most times that's all the tracking will say until it's "Out For Delivery"

        • Mine says Sydney too since day 1.

Weird thing is I got a 'failed delivery' notification on my phone around 24th but no card or anything left (and I was home). But I clicked on it and it took me to tracking that said nothing about delivery (still Syd). And no email…

          Hopefully it comes this week.

There are quite a few hidden features of this soldering station.
    Watch this video which shows;
How to change from F to Centigrade
Where the fuse and spare fuse are hidden
The size of the tips — 900M-T
how to re calibrate the temperature
    And a lot more
    Well worth watching

Tonight I tried using this same one I bought from here a few months ago. The solder does not turn on anymore. After two uses only. Wish me luck trying to claim warranty, the whole site is in Chinese and I'm thinking with the delivery and wait time, it will be cheaper to buy local than go through all the hassles for warranty!

    • +2

      Yep.

My soldering iron doesn't turn on, but the heating gun does.

      ffs

  • Everyone received already? Still waiting on mine, although the light bar they sent at the same time arrived nearly two weeks ago…
    Long time even for Aramex…

  • This post might not be seen by anyone but I'd still like to share my experience with the product failing.

I purchased when it was posted on OZB in July last year (not this post). I used the hot air gun a few times and it worked fine. I used it maybe ~20 minutes total in 3 sessions.

I needed to use the iron the other day for the first time and it failed after ~10 minutes of use. It was quite a dramatic fail with a bang, sparks and smoke coming out of the unit.

It appears an SMD component has blown up: https://imgur.com/a/BS4Tfj4

I've started a replacement/repair ticket with banggood and hopefully they pull through. If they don't I may try replacing the 1R00 SMD component (which I believe is a 1ohm resistor, please someone correct me if that's not the correct part) and seeing if that fixes it.

It's also possible that the failed component was on the other side of the board and the char marks went through the PCB. I didn't remove the board to check the other side, but will if banggood doesn't accept the warranty return to check if there's any other components that failed before attempting the repair myself.

    • I've tried contacting warranty twice over two months and zero response… Don't hold your breath.

      • No good. Have you tried putting in a complain with the consumer affairs ombudsman for your state?
