  Yes, I know it supports Thread but is it really worth 4x a similar device which doesn't? (e.g. Eve door sensor is $62 while other Wi-Fi / Zigbee door sensors are under $15).

    Ever since buying a Conbee, I am smitten for zigbee…
    When devices are directly paired there’s like zero lag, while wifi can be quick too, this is noticeable zippier when the groups are paired directly in zigbee coordinator

    You definitely don't want you door sensor to be on Wi-Fi though.

    If you are not locked in HomeKit, then you can indeed find a sensor on Zigbee.

    But if you are using HomeKit, this sensor for $60 is the best thing you can get.
