Magicshine has made reasonably priced MTB lights for years. Magicshine co-brands and actually makes the headlight.

This particular model comes with a separate battery pack and boasts 3500 lumen on high. While it has few reviews on Amazon, they are all positive.

When you are riding on pavement, this is NOT a light for riding public roads. It has no beam cutoff and would likely blind any and everybody its pointed in the direction of.

This light comes bundled with a free RN 100TL (MSRP $49.95) taillight.

  I am a happy user of your RN1500, RN800 and RN120. I wish the battery capacity was greater, but I appreciate the compact size.

      RN1500 and 800 last about 90 mins, same as RN120. Not sure what you mean by 5 hours. Max brightness of course.

        I use strobe mode before sun down and the medium brightness after sunset on my RN800.

          @bnh: You should not state it is "good for 5 hours of riding" it may last all 24 on strobe but this is not most people would buy it for. Otherwise you may buy a 5 dollars strobe on aliexpress instead.

  Very happy with my Magicshine Alty 1000 light. Different light to the one posted here, more for commuters. But Magicshine seem to be a bit of a sleeper of a brand, so can vouch for the quality.

  In fact, looking at the products, does magicshine also manufacture the RN1500? Looks very similar to the alty range.
