Can you explain how it is 2.5x the price of a King's one:
    https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/adventure-kings-inflatable-…

    Length - both 320cm length
Width - 83 vs 84cm (negligible difference I would think)
    Thickness - both 15cm thick
Weight - 150 vs 181kg - I guess if you are over 150kg, your option is iRocker only)
    Both include a triple-action pump

Just trying to understand where the bang is for the buck!

One of the selling points of this one is the triple layer skin and I have had a mate extol the virtues of this feature.
Kings one doesn't mention how many layers so I don't know about them.
It might make it stiffer, or it might be a gimmick, I don't know.

the triple-layer as mentioned here is good when you have the board out in the sun. hot air expands this board will allow for expansion. else, just be sure that you don't leave it out in the sun, place it in the shade or deflate it slightly to allow for expansion.

Otherwise, I do know that the King board are pretty decent and I have seen a couple of them on the water. I personally have the irocker cruiser and have paddled on my friend's blackfin and also red paddle co. I have to say cruiser is pretty close to red paddle co.

I guess, the question for you is, are you only going to paddle occasionally and just for a relaxed paddle? And are you well under the weight limit?

I know of paddlers on another forum who buy the King's as a spare to their irocker because they use the same connections (for the pump) and they can use that when they have friends who come along for a paddle occasionally.

I think the difference is the iRocker SUP suggests a more hedonistic lifestyle is enjoyed by its users, as depicted in the promotional video. Perhaps it appeals to a different demographic.

    • Agreed, I bought the Kings one for $180 with an eBay plus promo. Haven’t used it yet but bargain for a beginner.

-Triple layer PVC board making it stiffer and more durable, rated to higher PSI. (Kings is 1.2kg lighter, likely because its only 1 or 2 layers)
-Carbonfiber paddle shaft (Kings aluminum ones are prone to bending if your strong enough)
-Nicer soft rubber deck (Some report cheaper boards feel like standing on a cheese grater after a while)
-More tie down points, all fins are replaceable, better carrying bag & more colour options

I can't argue with the value of the cheaper boards and they do work, just pointing out the differences to a more premium name brand.

  • I bought a tahwali from BCF at $349. I reckoned it will do for a first timer.

    • Same, it works quite well for a beginner board and is very sturdy.

    • Bought that model. Started to delaminate itself after a few weeks. Let air out another few weeks later. Not convinced, POS. Returned it and made sure it’s not an exchange… YMMV

      • Pressure gauge didn't work. So had no idea if I've pumped it high enough. It was too low first time in the water. Waiting for a replacement now from the BCF warehouse for exchange at the local store.

  • Get what you pay for. Can't see the warranty on the Kings one - wonder how long it will last. Good brands back their products.

12 months warranty - it's in the manual.

They do show a Ford Ranger driving over it - sounds plenty tough enough for most casual users :)

I think it comes down to the pressure, the more expensive boards have higher psi meaning a stiffer board compared to the cheaper ones which have lower psi's .. from what ive read as looking into these myself.

    Irocker is highly recommended.

  • I sell them for heaps cheaper.. pfft
3.6m model selling for 450 with paddle included
4.2m race model am selling for 500 with paddle

both these are able to be inflated to 15psi (although not really needed.. 10 psi will do)
