Before anyone starts bagging out DSE, note that this product is available at OFFICEWORKS.

So take your business there via pricematch:

      • +2

Oh how disappointing i thought you were bagging out Dlink lol

      • You only need to threaten DSE that you'll go to OW unless DSE offers another 5% off.

        • +4

After the last fiasco. I'd rather take my business elsewhere if it's the same price.

        • @KeeFy
What fiasco? I must have missed that one.

        • Yes. Please share the sordid details!!!

        • +1

Wow have you guys been living under a rock? Or not checking ozbargain every 10 minutes like how a good ozbargainer should?

  • +4

    it is just a router

    • Agreed, no where does it state it's a modem.

  • +7

    Still only 10/100!

    • +2

      ewww.

  • How does this compare to Linksys E1200 which seems to be $29 after $30 cashback ? http://msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=8442 and http://cisco-au.sales-promotions.com/
Update: Noticed it's 8 port vs 4 port.

    • Also has USB for storage/printer and 3yr warranty

    • that's good find sorry to hijack this thread but looks like e1500 which is better unit is cheaper. i dont know why confused

    • Also noticed on the MSY site, at Clayton they have (clearance, one left) a set of 5.1 Teac speakers for $19. Could be a half decent surround system for your pc if you don't have one already :)

Yup it's just a router , could you please remove the Modem on the title as it will confuse the other people

  • +1

Its just a Router guys not Modem /Router, please change Title before people get confused

  • +2

mmm…it maybe just me but I dont like the idea of having a modem + router (separately) - too messy and waste of Electricity.
I wish there are good deals on a Wireless N modem/router instead… (fingers crossed)

  • No dual band, no gigabit ethernet. Not very future-proof.

    • +2

      future-proof or current-proof?

      • Or dick smith staff-proof?

  • How's this as a wireless extender for my billion?

  • DSE deals are gonna get negged to oblivion now

  • Every vendor that sells wireless N routers advertising the 300mbps without gigabit support needs a flogging! There is no way u can get 300mbps from LAN to wireless without gigabit ports.

    • What about wireless to wireless? Obviously they would be sharing the 300 but its no different to the N600 advertising where they add 300+300 on each band. Also depending on how far you are you probably won't be hitting the 100mbps mark anyway. However I do like your point.

      • most high speed transfer happens from PC to mobile/tablet. and most PC's are connected via lan cable. im not saying that people dont transfer wireless to wireless. but the lan to wireless is more often than not the one that requires higher transfer rates due to the large files being saved on the NAS or PC

It's not made by Dick Smith, it's made by D-Link, so I'm not sure I understand what that means.

    • +11

Yeah Dick Smith don't make D-link routers like they used to.

Quality has gone downhill since they shutdown the Melbourne Dick Smith D-link plant.

  • So is this router powerful? In wireless coverage wise?

I just want to use it as a 802.11n function.

Does it transmit 300mbps constant without dropping out or going down to 150.

    Thanks

Edit: … Can't find any reviews

    Found one

Cheap Plastic gargabe boxed and sold for 50 bucks no thanks!

  • Dammit I'm just going to buy it

All other 300N routers are over 100$ +

  • Just ordered including delivery 53.95$

That's alright, don't have to drive to office works or dicksmith to pick up and waste 5$ petrol lol.

    Happy customer.
    Thanks for post OP

    • Not a worry! Enjoy! :-)

  • Would this make a good wireless N300 repeater for streaming 1080i from a Billion 7800N to a WDTV Live?

  • Anyone know if this supports tomato or ddwrt firmware

  • It doesn't have 1Gbps ports.
