  • Any idea of shipping timelines? Awaiting a response, but interested if others know.

    • Listing says about 2 weeks from ordering. Though with Christmas/New Years it could be longer.

    • Bought mine on 15th December and received mine today.

      • Let us know how it is. I'm picking mine up next week.

        • Everything is in perfect condition. Well packed.

The air flow from the front blows out warm air, so in summer it's a little annoying. But the CPU temps are good, 35-45c playing games.

I would love this with DDR5, i think.

  • -1

would this be better with an AMD over intel?

    Also why $69 for wifi?
    802.11ax WIFI

    Whats that mean

    • This CPU is pretty much the same/better than a 5900X. It also produces less heat.

WiFi is either going to be a motherboard with it, PCIe card or a USB adapter.

    • I would suggest the WiFi would be something like this https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/msi-herald-ax-msi-herald-… which is a PCIE card (this matches prices as well). They name the Motherboard in specs, so I doubt they'll change that.

    • 802.11ax is the latest WiFi6 standard. Supposed to give better wifi throughput in high density scenarios (e.g. conference/hotels/stadium). For home use, I rarely find this useful (I don't have alot of smart devices though). Also your WiFi router needs to support this standard.

  • Ordered mine yesterday and then realised it doesn't mention anything about windows. Does this come with windows or should I be prepare to install it myself?

    • Good point but sure but you will need monitor
      .I assume no windows

      • I've got monitors already :) This is an upgrade to my current setup. I'm preparing as though it won't come with windows installed, but find it interesting they don't mention anything about it one way or the other.

    • Generally Windows is an optional extra with bpctech, so probably safe to assume it doesn't have it.

      • Yeah, that's what I assumed. But I thought it would be an addon option like where you can add a wifi card and upgrade the SSD etc.

      • Mine didn't, had to create a windows boot drive to usb through windows main page.

  • Does anyone have opinions on this prebuild from BPC: https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/kp-msi-dragongaming02-kra…

I was looking at it before they ran out of stock on Black Friday and it seemed like the best deal. I'd be looking to add Dual Band Wifi and 1TB HDD.

    • Sorry what's dual band wifi mean

      • I'm not too intelligible about this myself, but the way I understand it is that the motherboard is not wireless enabled. The Dual band wifi means that I can connect via wifi as using an ethernet cable is not an option for me.

        • Ah okay thanks. I'm a bit silly I just assumed every single system can do wifi now days lol but I guess not..I normally buy laptops where it's automatically built in

      • +1

Dual Band Wifi means support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels. I assume it's some PCI-E WiFi card or a USB WiFi dongle.

    • I also considered that prebuild but the 10th gen CPU is quite dated for a "new" pc.

      • How bad would it be? I'm not too heavy into newer games nor am I the type of person to play on the highest quality graphics. I'm accustomed to medium/low graphics just due to price range but I'd prefer to not need an upgrade for several more years.

I'm doing some CAD modelling and using various Adobe Suite programs at the moment. I would also be tempted to play Halo Infinite but not Warzone/bigger games.

    • It looks good but I'd try to get a 3070 if you can for gaming but I imagine that pushes the price up $500-600 at least

      • Yeah I've looked for a while and noticed the price rapidly increases. I'm not too worried about graphics as I've become accustomed to medium/low graphics over the years.

Main thing is that it lasts for several years and can handle CAD modelling software reasonably well. The 'heaviest' game I could see myself playing is Halo Infinite and if I have to turn the graphics down for it I'm fine with that.

  • +1

Well the price has been increased to 3399…apparently they’ve noticed the price is a bit lower than the current market price.

    • Yeh just spotted this too, I mean on the one hand it’s only $100 more but on the other hand this deal could have been cheaper if I pulled the trigger a few days ago

    • +1

I called up and apparently they ran out of the RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X PLUS 10G LHR GPU so they are replacing it with a slightly better performing card and with RGB (customer service did not know the exact model yet) hence the price increase.

Hopefully the extra $100 is worth it as I ordered it without realising the slight price increase.

  • Just needs DDR5 and a better PSU (1000w+) for next gen GPUs.

    • +2

DDR5 is a huge premium at the moment and doesn't net any real performance gains (yet).

    • Those might add another $400 to the total price.

  • In addition to the $100 price increase this now looks to be out of stock (coming soon listed on website)

  • anyone else get SF Express as the courier?

    • me. Shipped out 2 days ago, but still can't find the track info in SF Express

      • Got the shipped notification 2 days ago as well and SF Express tracking was updated yesterday. Website seems a bit dodgy though, hopefully no issues with delivery.

  • This is very tempting. Was going to do a build myself, but as this price, hard to go past.
