According to the User Guide it requires the Razer Sila App for setup. While the router does have support for a Web UI, for some reason it is disabled by default and can only be activated through the app…

How are Android users supposed to set this thing up when the Razer Sila App has been removed from Google Play?

    • sideload lol

i cant get to this apple store either so is this some AWS clown show or is it just general razer hopelessness

Having to put the security of my network at risk by sideloading from unknown sources isn't an acceptable solution for me.

Just asked to cancel my 3-unit order, meant to mesh them but after reading the reviews….
It might look like a deal compared to its rrp $469, but considering you can get things like xiaomi AX6000 for $150, this product doesn't look promising especially it seems like Razer has cut this product line….

    • I found the TP link Deco M5 units are amazing for gaming if you plug a LAN cable into one of the pucks ports. ie, 3 unit mesh system (picked up for $245) 1 unit is base/home, the other two act as range extenders wherever they are placed as long as wirelessly they can reach the base unit. the satellite units have 2x LAN ports in them, plugging that into my desktop PC and the speedtests were barely lower than running the PC connected direct to the router via cat-5. The only downside I have found is it uses an app to manage it via phone but it's actually available on google play, unlike this shit.

this razer story is something they dont seem to grasp very well

this is the 2nd time razer introduced a router and dropped support once no one bought it

the last one was the same thing… you needed the app to do initial config and then the web config came available

be that as it may, its a solid unit once set up and it was able to serve a 2 storey house by itself

      • I am using the 2 pack Deco X68 now, always feels like signal not strong enough, 1000M/50M NBN and heavy nas user. I've also got the tplink Sh1008 8-port 2.5G switch which is amazing for the price (Around $130)

  • Bought one. The app can be found in Apple App Store.

I had one of these in my apartment and it was flawless.
When I moved to a house I wanted to get another for mesh but couldn't find one under $400 so bought Google wifi instead.
One or 2 of the Google points go offline every few days and only a power reset fixes them, crap as I use them for security cameras.
Grabbed 2 more of these and gonna try returning the Google wifi.

    • i just installed one over the nye break and it seems to be easier than the old portal

you do not need the app

just log into its IP, then set it to bridge, plug it into your existing network and away you go

the speed is good, cant fault it so far, just like the old ignition portal but i think this one SEEMS to be a razer internal project?

  • this is reminiscent of portalwifi, which razer bought off of some startup(portal). it also uses dfs which is very effective especially for apartment setting, where i live. i used to use a router that had multiple antennas but speeds always were no more than 60-70 mbps (im on 100/40 nbn). after i switched to portalwifi, it shot up to 90-96 mbps, which is very surprising, considering the reputation of nbn.

now, i am wondering if this is the result of razer buying portal, effectively incorporating the same technology into their own hardware. i have mulled on buying more portal wifis to create a mesh but portal has advised against this, also considering that the reach within my apartment is perfectly fine regardless where you are (apartment is 80m2).

portal wifi also retails for about 80 back when i purchased it.

    • multiple antennas but speeds always were no more than 60-70

what was the router? I tried to used my phone as a Wifi AC router (with USB ETH as WAN input) when I had ABB 100 free month and I was getting full speeds.

  • Can these be repurposed with OpenWRT?

  • Too smart for me… I'll just use what I have already until it inevitably breaks
