  • Hi, just wondering if this stand would work with other branded mitre saws, such as the AEG 1800W Dual Bevel Slide Compound Mitre Saw (PS254DB)? Thank you for sharing the deal.

    • Depends, if you can mount the saw on the adjustable brackets and weight is under the rated capacity. According to this video, it appears any brand of the saw should work.

You've got me curious if there's a mitre that exceeds the 182kg limit.

        • +3

Surely that limit is designed to included the timber you're cutting aswell

      • Awesome, thanks. Will get one today for my Bosch Blue.

    • have the same question but buy now worry later.

edit: I will come back with an answer when click and collect is ready. Annoyed since I have giftcard to collect later this week but ain't waiting in case of price error lol

I have this one and just got 4 bolts and wing nuts and mount my ryobi on it whenever needed

    • +3

Hey guys, can confirm it worked on my AEG mitre saw. Cheers

      • did you mount the bracket to the stand first before putting the saw on? Or did you follow their guide with the ply wood? That saw is so heavy !

        • +1

          Hi Pippo,

I mounted it while the bracket was on the stand. I measured the gap between the bolts and used that measurement to space out the brackets so that the saw would sit straight on top. The manual mentioned to use plywood but I didn't do it. I don't think it needs it, it felt really stable already. I'm not sure what purpose the plywood would offer, but I can imagine it would make the whole thing even heavier to lift.

          • @tchuy1: Thanks! Makes sense to do it that way. Had a brain fart moment lol!

      • Epic, gonna get one for my AEG.

    • Went to Bunnings Clyde North to try price matching, but the guy (Adam) said they only do price matching in physical stores not online. I said I have done it many times already, then he told to ask the online special order team. I was going to call the manager but the price had changed to $269 already. What a liar!

Picked one up! Nice stand to fill my endless apprenticeship list 👍

  • Any idea if it will work with my makita

    • don't see why not? the saw connects to the adjustable bars via some winged screws/bolts+nuts (not sure if it comes with the stand or saw though).

  • +1

So cheap - picked up one for my metal cut off saw as well as my compound mitre.

  • Can somebody confirm that this stand comes with the saw mounting brackets? I bought the longer one a while ago and it didn't include the brackets, they were an extra.
The brackets on there own cost over $100 so if they're included this will be an even better bargain.

    • +1

Both the ones I got came with mounting brackets.

      • Cheers, thanks for that.

Don’t bother price matching with Total Tools. They told me they talked to head office and they dont price match “special prices”. Quote “we dont price match every stupid price from other stores”

I guess they only price match when it’s convenient, only RRP? Dont waste your time with them

    • +1

Same with Sydney Tools - their price match guarantees aren't worth a pinch.

I play a game with them trying to get them to price match - so far I'm at zero from nine attempts.

      It's straight up false advertising.

      • You must be really irate with them.

I've tried to price match at Sydney Tools once and was rejected. The salesperson checked the site for price and availability then called a manager over to approve the price match, I was then told "they probably don't have the stock anyway". I told them that it's showing "in stock" on their site to which the manager responded "it's probably wrong"

I left the store, purchased it online from the other place and left feedback on Sydney Tools website. Later that afternoon I received a phone call apologising for my experience and them offering to price match or beat the price.

        • time to call in ACCC for dodgy and misleading practice

    • Guess that's why I'm still waiting. Price match request at midday, response at 6pm saying it has been escalated for approval and now 40 hours later nothing. Only wanted to use my insider dollars

    • Ha, ha!
Total tools removed it from there web site so they can deny price matches..

I'd love to know what your reply to them was.

i picked one up yesterday, the special price label had 22nd dec on it, so i guess today's the last day if anyone still on the fence.

    • +1

Thank you very much … pulled the trigger with a click n collect last night and it's back to $269 today.

  • Thanks to the OP for this.
I did my research and felt that this was the best value compared to the Ryobi and the slightly dearer AEG one.
    Picked one up yesterday.
