Hmm, the "half price" Mont Blanc ones are the standard price at CW all year round…

  • +3

Are any of your listed perfumes 80% off?

  • +20

This is pretty much the standard pricing. (Although chemist warehouse is pretty competitive.)
Anyone who's followed Chemist warehouse would know that these are nothing special.
Better off waiting for a 10% off storewide sale.

    • Acqua Di Gio seems to be cheaper than both ones sold at DJ and also Myer. I don't check CW prices but though their prices were usually lower in the first place?

  • +6

    Title should be changed.
The prices are 80% "off RRP". As CW often don't sell at RRP, the discount of 80% is not the true discount.

  • I'm not seeing any price reduction. For example Hugo boss (blue color)@ $49.99. Routine price. Am I wrong ?

  • Is there any difference to Chemist warehouse fragrances compared to the same ones from Myer or DJs? Or are they the same?

    • Chemist warehouse fragrances are generally grey imports, which is how they can undercut.

The quality though seems to still be good.

Nah… these are standard prices. And I don't like buying anything above $80 from Chemist Warehouse. Bought 180ml ADG Profumo and it is super weak. I think a lot of their fragrances sit around in hot warehouses or spend too long in the glass display windows.

    • So Bleu de Chanel would be a bad idea from CW as well?

      • I would buy any fragrance over $10 from there. Nothing smells the same as from proper outlets

      • You'd be fine.

Bigger sales to be had on boxing day 🙃

    • Amazon will be cheaper too and they don't use DoorDash

      • +1

Probably a touch cheaper, really comes down to you wanting to support amazon or an au company.

        • Both corporations have circumvented government regulations to gain a monopoly, and DoorDash isn't Aussie so I guess it's six of one, half a dozen of the other. Both have Aussie workers.. Some of the Amazon delivery people have been delightful!

@King Steuart: Sure, Amazon circumvent taxes, exploit workers and are grossly monopolistic.
Chemist warehouse uses a franchise model as a loophole around business lobbies that protect small pharmacies, bulk buying and property value to offset lower than average prices.
            Pick your poison really.
But im paid well, the customers win in the end and for me atleast, the work atmosphere is enjoyable.

Chemist warehouse is so far Chinese it's not funny!

  • I bought a few big brands from CW for cheaper prices but they do not seem to stay long or strong. Does anybody know what is the catch?

    • Someone seem said they are most likely grey imports. Maybe an issue at the source rather than CW ?

I like to shop in store and run batch codes through the link below. Anything more than 2 yrs old is a no go for me. I have seen perfume 10+ years old on the shelves at CW. Caveat emptor.

Its funny that nowadays with batch reformulation and watering down of the original recipe batches that are 10 years old can often go for far more than what the new ones are worth.
I know my batch of 2013 ysl la nuit is going for 2.5x what I paid for it (for opened bottles)

    • this is usually not the case for fragrances because they get better with time … the former batch codes are more expensive than the later ones due to reformulation …

    • This checker means nothing. Any bad guy can use it to check the earliest year then use that number to print it on the box (assuming the stock is questionable in it’s originality).
