I bought a driving camera from Banggood which failed after a few months of use. They offered me less than 50% refund because it was now a used item. I had to kick up a huge fuss to get them to honour the warranty and then I had to ship it back to them in China. Still waiting to see what happens.

I will never buy from them again.

The only way to get a warranty is by PayPal Banggood have no real warranty they are a joke when it comes to customer service I also had get refund via PayPal , Avoid them at all costs check reviews first .

Wondering how much did it costs to send back to China? Or was from Australia?

    • That's always the case with overseas sellers

      And some eBay.

Even third party Amazon sellers can be dodge

      • ..and the crooks at Kogan.

Been using this phone almost a week now, got it a bit cheaper from this deal. Even at this price, a great deal.

-Camera is perfectly fine for 99% of people out there, especially considering the price
-Very decent battery life, can probably do 8-10hrs of SoT, depending on what you're doing
-Very snappy, all games run perfectly fine. Haven't experienced any slowdowns anywhere
-Yes, there are some ads or 'reccomendations' but they can easily be disabled (and present only in 1 or 2 system apps)

Very happy with it. Shipping only took ~1 week or so.

Just note that adr8's deal is on the 6GB/128GB version and this is the 8GB/256GB version. Good that you're happy with it none the less.

      • Ah, good point. I probably won't ever fully utilise the 256GB, having trouble filling up the 128GB version I currently have lol. Will differ from person to person obviously.

Agreed - One of the best devices out there for under $300.

Gets even better if you put a custom ROM on it - Running Pixel Experience Plus…It's 95% a pixel 6 pro. Unreal stuff 👌

      • Got mine unlocked now but haven't transferred everything over from old phone yet. Was thinking whether I should try Pixel or ArrowOS before I do.

Are you using v11 or 12? (and have you tried Arrow to compare the two?)

        • I haven't tried arrow as I've been happy with Pixel plus! Using V11 for Pixel plus - the developers are busy finalising v12 which looks promising.

Either should be good and will be better than Miui

        • Miui eu is good

Used custom ROMs before but never on a new device.

      • Got any links/info about Pixel Experience Plus ROM? 👍😁

        • Would guess this is the official website, unless it's a fake.

One simple google search away btw.

Here's the link to the ROM page and xda
          developer thread.

          https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-11-0-vayu-bhima-pixel…

You need to 1st unlock bootloader, then root and put a custom recovery on, then install the ROM.
On YouTube, look up Poco x3 pro bootloader unlock - Munchy is the uploader and has video walk-throughs 👌🏼

        • Thanks all didn't realise ROMs went far as giving a Pixel Experience 👍😁

I doubt this mobile is 5G capable though still seems a reasonable price considering the specs it offers, well 8GB/255GB is certainly a great start wondering does this mobile have a sdcard memory slot?

          • @Italkdigital: No 5G. Has SD card slot but is shared with second SIM slot.

      • does using a custom ROM take away localised stuff like using Google Pay with Australian banks or Wifi Calling etc?

        • From what Ive read, people report these still work on some ROM's - but they can break with others.
Best to pick a ROM you like, and then get feedback from multiple people (in AU) using that ROM on this phone.

Phone is pretty bulky. And heavy.

Would say it gets a bit hot doing normal stuff.

      • Haven't personally noticed the heft, it is a bit big for one-handed use in some occasions.

Also haven't felt it getting hot, even when gaming and with the case on.

    • You are very lucky @crispy mine hasn't had any updates in almost 2 weeks

Wow thats a good price for the 8/256

  • Would prefer the redmi note 10 pro … when will that ever get on special…?

    • That won't drop to 300 in a long time.

Personally I wouldn't touch BangBangNotGoodBang due to past bad experiences, but I purchased a 8GB/256GB version from Amazon UK recently ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/667445 )… I was after a general use phone & GPS device to replace my old Galaxy S6… I'm quite impressed with it, GREAT battery life compared to the old S6, and the screen is reasonable in sunlight, better than the S6… I don't game and I'm not too bothered by the claimed camera issues: (I haven't actually used the camera yet but I'm confident it's fine for what I do, I use a Gopro for most things):

I turned off the advertising crap and such and I have no issues with the standard MIUI firmware, she all looks good to me as a non-expert/non-enthusiast…

I dropped it twice today onto pavers and concrete while travelling on an e-scooter at 15km/h and it lived to tell the tale (in the supplied silicon case)… Thumbs up for the durability, it's unmarked other than a slight scuff on a couple of corners of the case… (my S6 screen cracked when it slid off my car seat into the door and onto carpet)

The first drop was quite bad, she tumbled down the road a fair way and ended up under a parked car but I didn't get it on cam, the second time it bounced off the side of the bike track and stopped when it hit soft ground …

    Drop #2, Language warning:

Bought the phone from Amazon UK for $334. I bought the phone with the intention of installing a custom rom on it due to both miui not being the best and not trusting the Chinese government.

I ended up installing pixel experience plus and I have to say I am really enjoying the phone. The phone runs very smoothly and the battery life is great, with over 10 hrs sot on wifi and around 7-8 sot on data. I also installed a version of gcam and a config I found on xda forums and the camera quality becomes very decent.

The only gripes I have about the phone is that the screen does not have the greatest viewing angles when compared to an OLED and that the speakers are not too great. However, for the price, this phone is amazing and I will probably never buy mainstream phone again.

I also tried other roms, such as arrowos and lineage os, but arrow os had a few glitches with Google maps and pop up windows and lineage os seemed very basic and GPS did not work for me.

  • Just got mine last month. Fantastic device especially for the price, but custom ROM is pretty much mandatory for me. Just finished installing Arrow OS just now and it's amazing.

  • Avoid Banggood, bought some items advertised as genuine, arrived fake items, showed proofs to them and everything and they asked me to send items back to their china warehouse at my own expense, which cost more than the actual items prices.
