Pretty good price. I had the tactile version for about 6 months before switching over to custom keyboard.
For those considering of buying, be aware that this doesn't use the conventional kailh choc keycaps and the Logitech keycaps will shine and the paint actually wore off for me during my 6 months of usage. You can't buy the keycaps from Logitech unfortunately and I had to get them off AliExpress (though I've read forum posts where you can get replacement through warranty, but I didn't bother).

    • Do you mind sharing which ones you got from ali express? I also had the same problem you described with the key caps rubbing off.

      • +1

@pikatech this is the one that I bought, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000576425713.html?spm=a2g0o…

        • Appreciate that!

How'd you find the process of replacing them? Worried they might just snap since they're so thin.

Also, did the AliExpress keys start rubbing off after similar time frame (if you still used it that is)?

          • +1

@pikatech: I have keycap puller and just used that when taking out the keycaps. The legs are very thin though so may be don't brute force it if you find difficulty in taking those out.
I didn't notice any paint peeling off, but as they are ABS, they shine like no tomorrow after a few months of usage.

If only it wasn't the TKL version. I love having the numpad

I bought the full keyboard initially and unfortunately they have a row of G Keys vertically at the left end of the keyboard. That configuration drove me mad as I kept hitting the G5 key instead of Ctrl for example and the other G Keys on occasion.

I bought the TKL version a few months later, and I haven't looked back until someone on Ozbargain smartly suggested that I could also take the G5 key off from the keyboard … Why didn't I think of that?

But even if I did the above, the full keyboard takes up too much space on my (already cramped) desktop, so I still prefer the TKL over the full

      • +2

Or you know…Map G5 to CTRL.

        • LOL! Even better. I haven't even bothered going that far of configuring the keyboard but spot on

    • G915 full is on AMZN for $247 -$25 cashrewards.

  • is linear quieter? than say the G pro TKL

and are the switches better quality than the g pro shroud?

    • +1

The G915 comes in a few switch types - Linear, Tactile and Clicky.

Linear is the quietest followed by Tactile and then Clicky.

I think the G Pro comes in blue switches right? So they'd be closer to the clicky version.

Great keyboard! At this price its a good deal.

  • Tempted to get this as I wanted a linear small form. Damn it.

I think the Amazon is selling the G815(wired is better IMO) Tactile as $175, (was $150 when on blackfriday)

I used to be an avid cabled peripherals supporter, but their wireless stuff is seriously good. The only thing negatively I can say is they aren't able to use the Logitech unifying receiver tech, so you need to use an individual receiver for keyboard and another for a mouse. So, no, the G815 wired for $175 is not better.

      • You don't need two receivers if your mouse uses lightspeed as well.

        • Yes you do.

Well, Sorry if I didn't put it clearly.
        So…
        1. For me, I grabbed that G815 was like $150ish, and just I actually don't care about any of "how seriously good is the Logitech wireless stuff", my button line is: I use it for gaming keyboard as it should be, and so it will be stationed. Then all those battery's life, wireless functions etc doesn't matter how good they are, they will be still a concern right?

        1. What I really care about? PRICE! Functions, app, its mechanics, noise etc. So let's look back at the G815 (non TKL tactile), an exactly same keyboard as G915 but just with a cable. And it was selling for more than $100 less at that time….and you know the rest of the story.

        2. So should I pick the G915 with more "concerns" for $100 more if all I want is a stationed gaming keyboard?

So just IMO, I didn't mean to complain about the Logitech wireless tech or battery life, it is just as a gaming keyboard, why I think G815 is no less than G915, than why paying $100 more for the wireless function as a "concern" except you have specific reasons you need a wireless stationed gaming keyboard, like….you can't live with that one more cable…

        Sorry for..being a bargainer…

edited: no sure what happened to the formatting tried to fix it but seems failed

I think this would be a fairly good portable keyboard as well that has a decent wireless capability. Since you know, thin and light.

Though I'd agree that feature that you might not even need comes at a bloody hefty price tag.

          • @iridiumstem: Thanks for the understanding! But just saying, yes it is thin, but the weight…it is like more than 2.2 lb, so approximately 1kg, not exactly a light keyboard, but that is one thing I liked, heavy~

            • @RooBun: :P unfortunate thing is, many mechanical keyboards are heavy as. Lighter the better but, I find anything under 1kg to be managable.

A vendor is saying, 810g which I think isn't too bad. That kinda makes sense to me too, since Huntsman TKL is around 700g (which isn't wireless and I think it's too hollow inside making it to reverb crazy, which Razer addressed with V2 with sound dampening foams installed inside).

The 1kg one I think might be the fullsize one, at least, that's what I saw on the rtings review.

    • I'd agree with you for most keyboards, but the G915 is the closest thing to wired I've ever found, the only time it's noticeable is when I need to recharge it once every few weeks (months when it wasn't my daily driver)

  • Won’t deliver in Victoria

  • the party is over

  • i was going to get a jelly, but is this better since its on sale and you can get it right away?

  • What does it mean when they say it's a linear keyboard. Is that when there's no separate number pad on the right side?

    • +1

Linear is a type of keyboard switch. When pressing a key it's smooth and quiet. There are two other types of switches for this keyboard, tactile and clicky. This keyboard has no number pad as it is TKL, ten key less.

Tactility is basically a change in force (which could be big, small, done in a short distance or long distance) when you press the key. Like when you use a light switch, if you focus on the feel on the finger, there is a change in force when it clicks.

Linear has none of that, you press the key and as the key travels, there is no change in force until you hit the bottom of the switch. That hitting the bottom can make a lot of noise depending on how hard you type because you are hitting plastic with plastic, and that noise gets amplified with the keycap and the keyboard housing.

Tactile switches basically have a change in force but doesn't have a clicking mechanism.
Clicky switches have a clicking mechanism inside that makes noise, I think all the ones that you'd be available to get nowadays are tactile by nature (since activating the clicking mechanism causes a tactile event).
